Cardano Treasury Faces $5M Copper Bet
Toto Finance (@totofinance) wants Cardano’s (@cardano) community treasury to fund a copper reserve through a 22 million $ADA (~$5 million) proposal.
Toto Finance plans to hold the metal for up to two years before selling it.
About two-thirds of the funds would buy physical copper, with the rest covering operations, storage, insurance and audits. The proposal would consume more than half the treasury’s remaining withdrawal allowance.
Under Toto Finance’s assumptions, copper must climb from $6.73 to about $10.06 per pound to recover the full withdrawal if ADA’s dollar price remains unchanged.
The company would retain commercial rights to its separate tokenized copper business.
There is no guarantee the treasury will recover its original investment.
