Tight-wound silicon diode fuzz (as opposed to germanium) over a treble-heavy EQ (maybe a wah turned on and closed but untouched?) through a bass head is my guess. Wouldn’t be the first time they’ve done it (minus the wah).
Brother, that fucking guitar tone

In a non-political way, this was a blanket “example” type I shared with a coworker (this and EBT and addiction resources) of how we live in a scam society that rewards the enterprising rather than actually helping the needy. Big govt enables the cycle.
One NGO made $115,000,000 to traffic children across the United States. This is how it worked: - Kids trafficked by cartel - Sent to an NGO - NGO receives millions of your tax dollars from the government - Then sends kid to “sponsor,” no biometrics, no DNA testing - Never see or hear from the child again These NGOs are more secure than the border, with high spiked gates, cameras, and no access to the front desk. Ask a question and they will call the police. This is why it's important to vote.

The problem with this post is that: a) it’s vague B) it assumes “box office” is the entirety of the recoupment and profit “waterfall” C) the question at the end is almost moot because actors are seldom a film’s draw anymore
James McAvoy starred in Wanted with Angelina Jolie. It made $342,000,000 worldwide. He says some of his residual checks now come in at 25 cents. "It literally costs more to post this than it did for me to check it, cash it," he says. In the video below, McAvoy tells Josh Horowitz the one movie that still pays him. It's not the one you'd guess. The one that keeps paying is Split. He says it was made "for like $6 million or something." Box Office Mojo lists $9,000,000. It opened to $40,000,000 in North America and made $278,000,000 worldwide. So his first residual check came "at the end of the first weekend," he says. Wanted cost $75,000,000 and made $342,000,000. "I don't get too much money from, from Wanted," he says. Now he's directing. His first film, California Schemin', had "3 million, three-ish million," he says. That bought a five-week shoot. 25 days. He says he made Last King of Scotland for the same 3 million and shot for 10 weeks in foreign countries. When the money ran short, he told his producers he'd do whatever it took to get it. Even "kiss someone's ass." "I didn't need to give any sexual favors in the end, which is brilliant," he says. California Schemin' has made about $720,000 worldwide, per The Numbers. The case for the studios: McAvoy got paid up front for Wanted, hit or flop. Back end money only shows up when a movie turns a profit on paper. Split did that in one weekend, he says. Most movies never do. So should actors get a cut of every hit they're in, or is the up-front check the whole deal?

The new @rianjohnson app is very fun. It reminds me of putting @videovillageco plugins atop a solid color grade, but for iPhone pics.

Looking at you, guy I work with!!!!!
If your VERY FIRST reaction to watching a horrific Learjet crash is “That looks fake,” “It was a missile,” or “Where’s the debris?” then congratulations. You’ve just identified yourself as the perfect mark for every conspiracy grifter on the internet. It’s the same breathtaking stupidity that gave us the 9/11 Pentagon “missile” and “missing debris” conspiracy theories. A horrific tragedy unfolds before your eyes, and before you know a single fact, your first instinct is to invent a conspiracy. STFU & GTFO! You’re not “just asking questions.” You’re broadcasting your ignorance, your gullibility, and your complete inability to distinguish evidence from bullshit. And the people exploiting these tragedies know EXACTLY who you are. They know how to manipulate you, outrage you, and keep you coming back for another helping of manufactured mystery. They turn human suffering into conspiracy content, and you eagerly spread it for them. You think you’re exposing a cover-up. You’re actually exposing how easily you can be played. The grifters have a product. You’re the customer.

Overheard recently: People talking about how they will turn on voice mode on an LLM and just talk to it when they’re bored or on long drives. Normal folk more cooked than previously thought possible.

Imagine being Michael Corleone seeing Apollonia for the first time. Never having to wonder if she’d heard of or attempted twerking.

Better with every watch
En The Killer tenes a un protagonista que es atemorizante no por ser especialmente destacable , sino por ser especialmente estúpido en su trabajo. Una de las más infravaloradas de Fincher, la valoro cada vez más.

My perception of the problem is that he made two HIGHLY effective movies with increasing fanfare around the time that the exact style of those movies went out of fashion and then proceeded to act in improv-necessary movies while being poor at improv and thus he has fully fallen from grace
Taika Waititi has called critics “sad lost souls” after ‘KLARA AND THE SUN’ became his lowest rated film ever on Rotten Tomatoes. “I haven't read a review of anything aimed at me or my peers in almost 15 years. But I do listen to the people. So this Halloween, let's spare a thought for those sad lost souls who couldn't achieve their dreams of becoming artists, and thus became critics. The same people who also hated Jojo Rabbit! Irrelevant. Out of touch. Obsolete. In the bin.”

I would like a Herr Starr series. What a character. A man whose brutality and cunning quickly got him to the top of a world dominating organization only to realize it’s a spineless bureaucracy inside? What’s not to love?

GOD FORBID A MAN SIMPLY LOVES MOVIES AND ENJOYS THEM A TON

I don't talk about the brand very much because I like to treat this account as a safe space to talk about oral health... BUT, I have been working on a new product for the last year and a half... and it's ready. We have a few tucked away to give away for our top creators but I begged @CalvinandNOBS to let me give some away to the X family. What is it? It's a microbiome balancer disguised as a breath mint. It looks and tastes like a breath mint but it's much more. Why did I make it? There is so much time for things to go wrong during the day between your morning and evening routine, and I found a cool way to make it an opportunity for things to go right. Ok so what does it actually do though? We call the formula FloraShift, and the name is very intentional. So many of us are walking around with an imbalance. The same type that can make you have IBS, acid reflux, a yeast infection can also happen in the mouth. This presents as bad breath, gum disease, cavities. We're even finding oral bacteria implicated in cancer, dementia and heart attacks. Oral dysbiosis causes a LOT of problems. Now, a mint won't solve that by itself but it *can* help nudge you in the right direction. FloraShift a symphony of ingredients chosen with the goal of restoring balance... encouraging the commensal and symbiotic bacteria, while curbing harmful bacteria. Not just thinking about what we can get rid of (like most products that just sterilize). Thinking about what we actually want to thrive: Xylitol: Starves cavity causing bacteria, stimulates saliva Beta-cyclodextrin: Plant-starch that will trap odor but more importantly impacts bacterial communication (quorum-quenching activity), interfering with bacterial chemical signaling. That communication can coordinate behaviors like biofilm formation. Basically a signal jammer for the bad bacteria. Magnesium citrate: Competition within the biofilm. Helping the bacteria we want hold their ground, and makes it harder for the pathogenic bacteria to hold on. L-arginine: Put useful bacteria to work. Certain mouth bacteria use it to produce acid-neutralizing compounds. Research also shows effects on biofilm structure and competition between health-associated and cavity-associated bacteria. Potassium bicarbonate: Buffer acid directly. A separate approach to acidity that doesn't depend on bacteria processing an ingredient first. It complements the bacterial route behind arginine. Potassium nitrate: The oral/systemic connection. Provides nitrate that certain mouth bacteria convert into nitrite, part of a pathway your body uses to make nitric oxide. Nitrate is also being studied for its effects on oral microbial communities. Zinc acetate: Odor chemistry and biofilm activity. Binds sulfur compounds involved in bad breath rather than just covering them up. Zinc also has laboratory evidence for antimicrobial and anti-biofilm activity. Peppermint + spearmint oils: More than the mint taste. They bring the flavor and aroma, but also have laboratory research behind their antimicrobial and anti-biofilm effects. So when I say FloraShift, I'm talking about the whole approach...What bacteria eat. How they communicate. How they compete. The biofilms they live in. The compounds they produce. That's what we @nobsroutines wanted to account for when making this. Not just some generic probiotic and calling it a day. Anyway, I have 20ish (maybe more) to give away. All I ask is that you comment with something that has helped your oral health, or even a problem you're currently struggling with. A share would be cool but not a requirement.
