Billionaire LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman donated $7 million to support Kamala Harris's presidential campaign, while publicly calling for her to fire Lina Khan.
He donated millions to key Senate candidates while claiming that we need to build more data centers.
If Reid wants money out of politics he should give without comment and never take a meeting with candidates who he gives to, but just two days ago he was boasting in the NY Times about his influence.
If billionaires like Hoffman weren't handcuffing candidates with his bad, unpopular ideas as the price of a donation, the Democrats wouldn't need his donations.

Saikat Chakrabarti filed a complaint today with the Federal Election Commission.
It alleges that Scott Wiener’s congressional campaign is illegally sharing expenses and coordinating with a PAC, Families for an Affordable San Francisco.

Scott Wiener leads the money race to succeed Nancy Pelosi, with $5.7M raised to-date, more than double Connie Chan's total. But all that cash hasn't bought a comfortable lead as polls show a close race. 🧵
All-in, it is clear that Wiener’s biggest backers are repaying him for years of friendly legislation. They see the 56-year-old as a long-term asset in D.C., as their original $1.5M investment in his state Senate run has continued to pay dividends.

Lurie’s billionaire allies spent a fortune passing the Mahmood measure. Now they’re spending millions more to pass Prop. A, which by any rational standard undoes it—and makes it so that Aaron Peskin can run again.

Black Action Alliance is not a real org, it was created by splitting money off a Dreyfuss donation to the RCV ballot measure IE Taylor inspired, run by his former Chief of Staff who took that money & founded a non profit to put it in. They then changed the name of that org to BAA
Breaking!🚨
Why did Gagan Biyani (CEO of Empower Oakland) and Loren Taylor (co-founder of Empower Oakland) host a gathering in Oakland with Palantir’s CTO Aki Jain to discuss “business x politics” including the “AI boom”and “data centers” in the lead up to Tuesday’s election?🧵
Palantir, along with Andruil, is co-founded by Peter Thiel, with the latter being heavily invested in by Andreessen Horowitz. Thiel is an anti-Democracy billionaire and right-wing mega donor, whose insidious agenda has been well-captured in journalist Gil Durán’s the Nerd Reich
To our followers in Oakland! Be careful how you vote this election, follow the money, and be extra cautious with any Empower Oakland (read; astroturf-backed) candidates - phoenixprojectnow.com/phoeni…
