#NewPaperAlert now we have this study published in @angew_chem Proud to be involved in such an interesting study shedding a new light on design of solvatochromic and hydration-sensing fluorescent dyes! This new generation of #BODIPY dyes offers everything that [1/3]

a must see when in Brussels, although I find 'Dulle Griet' in Antwerp even more fascinating. One of the characters is allegedly a caricature on Jan Van Eyck ;-)

indeed, they should either ban the use of AI in the grant applications or just switch to lottery/ random selection of the winners

it can always get worse in other ways but yes, it will not get worse with disappearance of AI and should indeed become a little bit better or having a chance to get better, plus if people really care about 'intelligence', it can stimulate developing something smarter/creative

Agree, thanks with sharing. As a wet lab researcher for most of my career I am quite sceptical that AI review can be sufficiently good to replace 'peer review'. It cannot experience any experiments. The whole idea of peer review is also of being reviewed by peers, for free.

"something is not right" can be felt already by seeing that it's from "Prime original", while nothing can beat original BR movie. 2049 was an okay imitation/follow up but magic disappears exponentially with every sequel

okay it may sound retarded and it is 'too late' now but never too late to start enforcing regulations, accountability etc for AI users and developers, considering the cost of the damage. Shutting down datacentres, regulating the hardware costs can help mitigating...

This a cinema in Göktürk, Turkey after the extreme rain. Ironic considering that Hollywood has barely engaged with the climate Crisis, in the weeks after one of the biggest films to ever do so, Digger, was savaged by critics.

May I suggest we all read this? Evidence based Frightening Action needed right now. The report estimates that limiting warming to approximately 1.8°C rather than 4.4°C could prevent 1.89 billion disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) being lost by 2100.

I think it is part of the plan for destroying the institutions of democratic order and replacing them with corporate values: it started from attack on the language, art, skill of translation, now STEM, with maths being a primary target for now. The whole idea of AI is anti-human

I see it mostly as another level of #enshittification especially in mining the literature, the less you use it (i.e. considering a responsible use) the better
