Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
We join the Tooro Kingdom, the Royal Family, and the entire nation of Uganda in mourning His Majesty the Omukama of Tooro, King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, who passed on 27th August 2026 and is being laid to rest today, 12th September 2026.
His Majesty's story was truly remarkable; he ascended the throne at only three years and for more than three decades grew before the eyes of his people into a respected and admired traditional leader. He will be remembered for promoting culture, tourism, environmental conservation and for supporting opportunities for young people.
As a forum that stands for young people, we are deeply inspired by his humility, service, and love for his people.
In this moment of sorrow, we stand with the people of Tooro to share in their grief as they mourn a king whose life touched generations.
#OmukamaAtulize. #EnkubaEtutire.
May His Soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

The stories told about girls and women shape how society sees their leadership, choices, bodies, and rights. Too often, these stories portray women as powerless, silence their experiences, or blame them for the injustices they face.
Through the #feministnarrative training conducted by Prof. Sylvia Tamale with support from @medicamondiale, participants strengthened their ability to question harmful messages and tell stories rooted in dignity and truth that centre girls’ and women’s rights
When women and girls shape their own narratives, they do more than tell stories; they challenge stereotypes, influence public conversations, and create space for change.
That's why Media practitioners, organisations, institutions, and community leaders must stop reproducing harmful narratives and intentionally amplify stories that recognise girls and women as leaders, experts, and agents of change.
Change the narrative. Shift the power.
