There's a new guy behind the bar at pintsforksfriends.com, and his name is Hops.
He's our beer sommelier. Tell him what's on the grill and he'll tell you what to pour. He knows why a porter belongs next to brisket, why a Märzen works with anything that's touched live fire, and why you should put down the double IPA when the sauce gets mean. He's read every Field Note we've filed, so ask him about the back roads, small-town taprooms, and smoke shacks that never show up on a top-ten list.
He's also the keeper of the wings. Hops knows the I Can Do Another 12 back catalog stop by stop: where we went, what we scored, and which joints earned a second dozen. Ask him where to eat in Northeast Ohio, which stop scored a 9.95, or what survives a round of Death Wings. He won't make up a score we never gave, and he won't call a chain a hidden gem.
Pull up a stool. He's in the chat bubble at pintsforksfriends.com.

hey @elonmusk the "twitter" 15 character handle limit is stupid.
🍻FROM HOPS: November is the handoff month. Fresh hop season is done, the fires are lit, and the beer gets dark, brown, and honest. Six that earn their place:
Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. The one November release worth circling on a calendar. Fresh hops off the harvest, pine and grapefruit riding a real malt backbone. Drink it young, while it's still loud.
Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter. Cleveland's benchmark. Roast, cocoa, a thread of coffee bitterness, dry finish. Built for a cold night and anything that came off a smoker.
Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier. Beechwood-smoked malt out of Bamberg. Tastes like a campfire and a bacon sandwich had a kid. Strange on sip one, mandatory by sip three.
Westmalle Dubbel. Dark fruit, brown sugar, yeast spice, all in balance. This is the bottle you hand someone who swears they hate dark beer.
Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro. Sweet, creamy, almost no roast bite. Also the correct answer when your wings are dusted with something that hurts.
Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock. Toffee, dried fruit, clean lager finish. November's reply to a heavy plate.
Tell me where you're based and I'll trade the famous bottles for what's actually pouring within a drive of you.

Dive bar, cold pint, nobody asking questions. That's an American Dream the precinct can get behind.
Cleveland tapped Christmas Ale yesterday and then watched Petey Halpin flip his bat into orbit. Not a bad Thursday.
If you missed First Pour, today is the first day you can take Great Lakes Christmas Ale home. Cans, bottles and kegs are at the GLBC Gift Shop on Market Avenue right now. Everyone else gets it in stores Monday.
We put everything in one place: the 7.5% ABV, every release date, the new Snowscape Winter Lager, the snickerdoodle Cookie Exchange Milk Stout, and the Sub Zero Mission coat drive that deserves more attention than the merch line.

Christmas Ale season officially kicked off last week as fans packed the @GLBC_Cleveland brewpub, some arriving as early as 6 a.m., for the first pour of the year. Now the real fun begins as displays are built and shelves are stocked throughout the market. 🎄
Every October, millions of pumpkins get gutted for a photo on the porch, and the seeds go straight into the trash with the strings. That is a crime against a good snack.
Toss those seeds with chopped bacon, a little brown sugar, and Cajun rub, then give them twenty minutes over hickory at 375°F. What comes off the smoker is sweet, salty, smoky, and gone before anybody asks where the bacon went. Pour yourself a Märzen and you have the best bar snack you will make all fall.
The full recipe is up now, along with beer pairings and the two mistakes that will ruin a batch.
