When is it safe to admit you're happy without life drop kicking you in the face?
Asking for a friend.

It's absolutely incredible that Americans are still asking the rest of the world this question in 2026. We give a fuck because WE HAVE TO and sometimes it feels like we care more than you do. You did, afterall, vote that thing in TWICE.

We don't comment on politics, but if we did, we would say the orange faced one has had all three stumps uprooted by a devastating reverse swinging yorker. No ball tampering detected.

I understand there’s obviously no correlation, but being on your phone in a quiet space around people and your volume is on FULL blast while you just scrolling TikTok makes me think your iQ might be a bit low

Chose partly as I highly recommend Audition (also written by Murakami) for this challenge.
In that vein, have you seen Oldboy or Sympathy for Lady Vengeance? They would be 👌too

Week 16✅ #MovieChallenge
Did Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania for this for Kang’s timeline obsession, but that fell flat so then did Piercing based on Ryu Murakami’s book. This worked much better for this challenge. A psycho-erotic thriller about a man and an ice pick…

#MovieChallenge 2023 - Week 16
This week’s challenge is to watch a movie about an obsession e.g. Whiplash or Black Swan (obsessing about perfection), Fatal Attraction (obsession about a person) etc.

I’m in shock. I’m reading Audition now and In the Miso Soup was the first book I read of his 😢

I think Muslims need to understand something uncomfortable.
Non-Muslims do not owe Muhammad their respect. They do not believe he was a prophet, and some do not even consider him a good man. You can disagree with them, but you cannot demand that they see him the way you do.
Your reverence for someone does not create an obligation for the rest of the world to revere him.
So, are we going to kill everyone who insults Muhammad, or are we going to learn to practise our religion in a world where not everyone shares our beliefs?
Because the world is not going to become Muslim just to protect our feelings.
We have two choices: learn to live with our differences or spend our lives fighting a world we cannot control.
You cannot force people to love your prophet by making them afraid to criticise him. You can only teach them to fear those who claim to love him.

The social media discourse around Saudi Arabia executing two Bangladeshis is stuck on whether they kissed, had sex or did something else. Who gives a fuck? No consensual act warrants execution. Saudi Arabia is a barbaric state and this is nothing but state terrorism.
