After years of running AKS in production (and learning the hard way), I wrote a book about the decisions that really matter.
📘 The AKS Book: Every AKS Decision That Will Save You a Cluster Rebuild
It’s out now.

🚀 KubeBuddy v0.0.38 is out! ☸️
This release focuses on more accurate findings and clearer evidence, helping you spend less time chasing false positives.
🔍 Improved AKS checks for dashboard status, system-pool node counts, autoscaling and managed identities.
🧹 Smarter Kubernetes findings for built-in namespaces, ServiceAccounts, Service selectors and aggregated RBAC roles.
🛡️ Better root-user detection, respecting inherited security settings without creating findings for containers that don’t exist.
💾 More useful unused-PVC findings, showing when a PVC became unused where Kubernetes provides that information.
🖥️ Includes Headlamp plugin 0.5.3, plus Go dependency updates.
Upgrade, rerun your scans, and explore the changes 👇

A few updates to my AKS Docs Tracker! 🚀
Microsoft has announced plans to retire most public Microsoft Learn documentation repositories, so I’ve changed how the tracker gets its documentation updates.
Instead of relying on GitHub PRs, it now snapshots published Microsoft Learn pages and compares the article content. Tracking can continue without those public repos, reflecting changes in the docs you actually read.
While making that switch, I’ve also added:
🐧 Azure Linux documentation tracking.
⚡ A dedicated AKS Automatic category.
🔎 Expandable change details so you can see what changed.
🤖 Improved AI summaries based directly on article diffs, with metadata-only edits filtered out.
Documentation checks run every six hours, with the weekly digest continuing as usual. AKS releases, App Net release notes and CVE tracking keep their existing sources.
Big thanks to @merill for learn-mirror, which powers the new documentation collection.

Building powerful long running agents requires a powerful agent harness. Now it's easier than ever inside of @Microsoft Foundry with the new Microsoft Copilot harness in Foundry Agent Service! 🧑💻
Build and govern a powerful agent powered by the same harness optimized across GitHub, Microsoft 365, and Copilot scenarios for agents that can accomplish complex and long running enterprise tasks -- no code required. All secured and governed in Foundry 🔐

We're redefining the SDLC for the agentic era.
Lots of GitHub updates this morning at Universe:
• GitHub Copilot Fusion delivers frontier-level quality, 40% faster and at up to 77% lower cost
• Our unified Copilot harness is now in Foundry, a managed service for building long-running agents that reason, use tools, and get work done
• Copilot Projects gives you an orchestration loop to build with multiple agents across repos
And we’re expanding capacity and strengthening GitHub’s architecture to make the home of agentic development more resilient.

🚀 AKS release notes tell you what changed. Getting in a room with the people building it lets you ask why.
My recent posts covered some AKS changes that caught my attention, including Node Pool Rollback, availability zone placement, and more control over LTS upgrades.
But reading about a feature is only part of the story.
What problem was the team trying to solve? Why did they take that approach? What should you consider before using it in production?
That’s the kind of conversation I’m looking forward to at Microsoft Azure Day with Kubernetes, ahead of KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America.
If you work with AKS, there’s a lot to get out of the day:
✅ Hear directly from Microsoft product managers and engineering teams about AKS, with practical insights and best practices.
✅ Join the afternoon roundtables to go beyond the announcement, ask questions, and share what you’re seeing in your own environments.
✅ Or take the hands-on lab path and spend the afternoon learning by doing, with help available when you need it.
I’ll be proctoring the labs, so if you’re coming along, please come and say hello. I’d love to hear what you’re building, and help you work through something new.

Yesterday we announced the first stages (private preview) of lots of protection of new workloads. The ones I am invested and involved in is around GitHub and Azure DevOps.
I’m working to make sure these fill a huge gap I believe in DevOps tooling and resilience.
