Sextortion is one of the fastest growing crimes in America and it doesn’t just target one thing.
For girls, it often looks like this: a predator gets one image, then blackmails her for more.
For boys, it’s financially motivated. A predator poses as a young girl, gets an explicit photo, then: “I got you.” About 90% of these victims are boys with scholarships, reputations, something to lose.
Too many kids have taken their own lives because of this — primarily boys caught in financially motivated sextortion, believing their world was over, humiliated, ashamed, carrying guilt they never should have had to carry alone.
Have this conversation with your son or daughter before they need it. Tell them: no matter what happens, I love you. There is nothing you could do that would ever stop that. You can always come to me.
That conversation — said in advance — is what gives them a way out.
Head to timtebowfoundation.org/while… for the tools to have that conversation tonight.

Here’s how sextortion works.
A predator gets an explicit image of a child, real or faked with AI, and uses it as a weapon. But not every predator wants the same thing, and what they want tells you which kind of sextortion it is:
•Sexually motivated: they want more images. It most often targets girls.
•Financially motivated: they want money. These predators often pose as a girl to get a teenage boy to send one image, then threaten to share it unless he pays.
•Sadistically motivated: they want to see a child suffer. They force kids to hurt themselves or others, and they record it.
No matter which kind it is, the predator is counting on your child’s silence. One conversation can break that.

You don't have to have it all figured out.
Following God isn't always about seeing the whole plan.
Even after I've prayed, studied, and asked people I trust, sometimes I still don't have perfect clarity.
That's okay.
You don't need the whole picture — just the next step.

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer." -Psalm 19:14
Compassion or Comfort?
You can’t have both.
Compassion literally means 'to suffer with.' Not to feel bad for someone from a distance — to actually step into it with them.
That's never going to be the easy option. It's supposed to cost you something.
What's one hard thing you could choose this week, for someone else's sake?
"And the Man of All Sorrows, He never forgot what sorrow was carried by the hearts that He bought. So when the questions dissolve into the silence of God, the aching may remain, but the breaking does not... in the holy lonesome echo of the silence of God."

"I will give to the Lord the thanks due to his righteousness, and sing praise to the name of the LORD, the Most High." Psalm 7:17

Speaking again to other horror developers:
Be careful not to live in the darkness of horror. Don't let it eat your mind 24/7. It's a fun escape, but I've seen too many people go too far that they forget life's soft beauty. Take joy in your every day and breathe. :)
Woke up to my alarm after a terrible dream this morning. It was scary... Tonight I continued reading Psalms before going to bed, with Psalm 4:
"I will both lie down and sleep in peace; for you alone, O Lord, make me lie down in safety." (Verse 8)
I think ill sleep well tonight.
What if we took a moment to really see the gospel?
It’s not just a story. It’s personal. What we’ve been saved from is eternal separation from God. Who we’ve been saved by is a King who loves us so much He gave His life—put on flesh, lived perfectly, chose death not just for us, but instead of us. And what we’ve been saved for is a life made right with Him, a free gift we don’t earn.
Sometimes we hear it a hundred times and forget how incredible it is.
This Easter, my new book, If the Tree Could Speak, invites us to see the cross from a new perspective—through the eyes of the tree that held Him—and let the weight of His sacrifice and love hit differently.
