I was so excited to play this tomorrow! 😭 As always though, I love a developer that's refusing to sell us a rushed game, and I know it'll be worth the wait!
An Update on Early Access:
ALT The Cygnus Cross team has made the difficult decision to delay the Emberville release to January 7, 2027. This decision wasn’t made lightly. After a fantastic Steam Next Fest, we realized we simply needed more time to include all the changes and improvements that we think will make the game the best it can be. Thank you for playing our Steam Next Fest demo, and for all the wonderful comments, suggestions, and feedback. Look forward to our Early Access release in January!
Coral Island is coming to Switch 2! It's a shame they couldn't make it work for Switch 1, but honestly I respect the developers so much for not forcing a badly optimized port.
Coral Island is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 this Winter, alongside the 1.4 “Kids Grow Up” update!🪸🏝️🎉

I'm honestly quite shocked at how much people are genuinely upset about the mixed reality SoS game, and even at the idea that I may want to try it.
It's very niche and won't be for everyone, but they're mostly just giving the assets and license to a 3rd party company to make a small game, like they did with Piczle Cross (and a ton of mobile games in Japan).
It's not replacing anything or taking development time away from regular titles.
It's cute but can we try something new? Petit Planet, Heartopia, Floatopia, Totopia, WonderPaws, they all look the same.
Check out the newly announced WonderPaws, a very cozy and very adorable multiplayer life sim in which you can build your own life in Paw City, a busy borough bustling with anthropomorphic animal life.

I think it's an interesting idea, it obviously won't appeal to everyone but it's developed by Grounding VR so it's not affecting the upcoming SoS titles.
I would have preferred full VR over this mixed reality style, I'm not sure if there'll be any interaction between the game and your surroundings, but I'll be looking forward to it.
