Picking a best album of all time feels impossible for me, but if you said give me 10 top albums in no particular order that feels really easy.

Real musicians know to add some OTT to make the vocals cut through.
I deadass short circuit when I hear someone say "bro just turn up your vocals" that is not how mixing works 😭

I am so thankful for the internet. It's so easy to find songs I only know a few lyrics to. Couldn't imagine the suffering before having to go through vinyls to find the song

Some people have a music superiority complex. Usually it shows by them thinking their favorite band or genre is objectively perfect than getting butt hurt when someone dares to have a different opinion.
How is not liking house music a bad thing? Been seeing this a lot lately, if someone doesn't like a particular genre thats jus their music taste. Y'all forget this shits subjective

I really need to experiment with key changes in a song more.

After making this joke I found out there was an Austrian hard rock band from the 80s called U8. They're pretty good actually.
The existence of U2 and U96 implies the existence of 94 other bands numbered between U3-U95

I just had a video on TikTok get 3.0k likes. This brought in 200 new followers. For comparison I just had a post here on X get 7.1k likes and it brought in 10 new followers.

Can a band survive and thrive after losing their frontman?

Don't you hate it when you're listening to a song and it gets to that part where the lead singer says your full name and address? Too many songs do it and it completely ruins the flow of the song

You ever have a particular fusion genre you really enjoy, but you find you don't really enjoy either parent genre? Isn't that strange? I guess sometimes the sum of the ingredients is more enjoyable than the individual ingredients themselves.

Honestly, Shoegaze feels more like a descriptor / production style than a genre of itself. Much like how mashup or hauntology is a production style with no inherent sound.
Do true shoegaze albums even fucking exist it’s always shoegaze mixed with something else

I meant plunderphonics not hauntology

People will look you straight in the face and say if you mention a single band I haven't heard of I'll kill you

You know sometimes you listen to an album and you get why it's so highly rated, but you just don't vibe with it at all and it just feels kinda mid.

Finally tapping into Portishead

This is one of those things that seems relatively straightforward, but really isn't. There's a lot of factors in play. A big one is most musicians don't intentionally create bad songs. As a musician you may feel a song is bad, but it ends up a hit.
If I were a musician I would simply leave the bad songs off the album. I don’t understand why this isn’t common practice in the industry

I will say though that with all the albums I have listened to that I think many musicians sleep on track selection and track ordering. A good track ordering is important and it's important to know when to save a song for a different album or EP.

At the end of the day asking a musician why they don't cut "the bad tracks" is to a certain degree asking musicians to predict the future a bit. There's definite elements in the musician's control for a good album, but some are outside their control or knowledge
