Shapiro is leaving Pennsylvania families stranded by not opting in to the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit. ⠀ For a Governor who’s all about ‘Getting Stuff Done’, he has had almost 10 months to get this done. Let the families of Pennsylvania know their kids can continue to succeed in school and opt in.

🚨Not enough manpower. ⠀ That warning came through clearly at our recent hearings with Reps. Jeremy Shaffer and Jill Cooper. Strengthening those ranks starts with training. This week, the General Assembly passed SB 782, companion to Rep. Jim Struzzi’s “Return to Service” bill, to let state and public school retirees serve as certified fire, EMS and police instructors part-time without affecting their pensions.

At our recent hearings with Reps. Jeremy Shaffer and Jill Cooper, firefighters highlighted the toll their work takes on their health. This week, the House passed HB 2826, co-sponsored by Shaffer and Rep. Michael Stender, to help eligible firefighters access no-cost cancer screenings, subject to available funding. Protecting those who protect us.
