Great quote from the @BostonGlobe today:
"While polling had indicated the question was a long shot, Evan Horowitz, executive director for the Center for State Policy Analysis at Tufts University, which analyzed the state’s nine ballot questions, said the initiative did reflect real concerns people have about the industry a decade after legalization.
“This ballot question never had a chance,” Horowitz said. “But it is possible that it’s the beginning of a kind of healthier conversation about exactly where we should draw lines on marijuana.”

Here's my full reaction to the Question 8 results.
More than half a million people in Massachusetts voted with us.
For the first time, Big Marijuana was forced to defend products up to 99% potency, packaging that targets kids, and the damage it's done to the Bay State.
Great movements rarely win the first time.
Maine, you're next.

Massachusetts just held the first vote in American history on ending commercial marijuana. More than half a million people voted to end it.
The industry calls that a defeat. Its own lobby has lost two dozen statewide votes and never once called one a defeat.

"Our son became deeply addicted to today's high-potency marijuana, and one day he paid the ultimate price."
That's Massachusetts mom Paula Santos-Young in a new Question 8 ad.
Concentrates sold today can run up to 90% THC. In her words: "This isn't the plant that voters legalized a decade ago."

#Massachusetts, when you vote #Yeson8 remember that the Boston bomber and James Holmes were pot users. Don't say it's too late. The pot industry had lied to you & we need to put the evils of this drug back into Pandora's Box. poppot.org/2021/03/23/weed-u…
Where are you? #democraticparty #DSA
Many of your programs are also funded by billionaires too. It's hypocritical to call out Trump, Musk and Co. without calling out these guys.

The stronger the better, chase the high.......this is what "regulated" marijuana legalization is like.
A budtender's advice to her son: "The stronger the better. Chase the high."
By 2021, he was in full psychosis.
This is what "regulated" sales look like. The person behind the counter is paid to sell more, and stronger.

A former president of Purdue Pharma #PurduePharma named John Stewart became President of a cannabis company. The cannabis industry knows all about addiction marketing.
The Justice Department just gave federal registrations to more than 900 pot shops in seven states and called it access to "the best medical treatments in the world."
Pot shops aren't pharmacies. No FDA approval. No set doses. No prescriptions.
Washington just handed the pot industry a federal stamp of legitimacy and called it medicine.

If it's legal, it must be safe? Not for victims of THC-DUI.
These crashes were on Halloween after states legalized marijuana, in Illinois and in Washington. Oops, Washington voted to legalize 3 days later. THC-impaired drivers kill; legalization doesn't hold drivers accountable
@RobSand needs to know there will be serious negative consequences if he legalizes weed.
