Postcapitalist Assemblages

Engineered scarcity is not natural — it’s historical, violent, and assembled. From enclosure to colonialism, the global divide was built piece by piece. This article traces that machinery and asks: how do we re-assemble the Common? #jasonhickel #degrowth #postcapitalism #commons

Global inequality isn’t a bug—it’s the system running as designed. From “development” myths to commoning, this piece argues we must overwrite the narrative code itself. #jasonhickel #divide #degrowth #postcapitalism #commons

The revolution won’t arrive from above. It’s already emerging in the cracks, failures, and unfinished desires of the present. Skott-Myhre teaches us to see the commons not as utopia, but as a force already assembling us otherwise. Ready to live in immanence?

Capitalist realism doesn’t just colonize politics — it scripts our desires. Reading Fisher’s unfinished Postcapitalist Desire might not free you, but it’ll show why you’re haunted. Reading him isn’t about critique. It’s about preparing your body to want something else.

What if use value — not profit — was the compass of our societies? What if economies centered care, ecology & collective needs, not extraction? Reading Hermann isn’t just critique. It’s reorientation. It might change how you see the world — and what you build next.

Commodification isn’t just happening — it’s being engineered. From privatization to austerity, Hermann shows how politics fuels the market takeover of life. Reading this will rewire how you see work, care, and resistance. Postcapitalism isn’t coming. It’s assembling.
