“Our door is always open.”
Closing the 2026 FedCiv Summit, William Briggs, Deputy Administrator of @SBAgov, called for clearer paths, faster answers & a fair shot for small businesses pursuing federal work.
His message: contracting opportunities and access to capital must work together so capable companies can compete and deliver.
Thank you to Beth Bauer, PMP, Federal Account Lead at @CGI_USFederal, for introducing our closing keynote!
Federal IT modernization requires more than new tech. It demands a cultural shift in how agencies approach their work. Mangala Kuppa, CIO of @USDOL, discussed the agency’s tech priorities, from cybersecurity & responsible AI adoption to data utilization & digital experience.
With @USDOL supporting critical services for millions of Americans, Kuppa emphasized that technology must make a meaningful difference. As AI reshapes how agencies operate, modernization alone is no longer enough.
Agencies must also question established processes and systems to identify opportunities for meaningful change. Thank you to Justin Fessler of @LogicMonitor for introducing Kuppa at the summit!

At #POCFedCiv2026 panel, "Connecting the Mission: AI, Interoperability, & Trusted Information Sharing" panelists said trusted info depends on more than AI tools. It takes people who trust the process, networks built for resilience & security, & partnerships sharing info quickly.
From @CMSGov' focus on redesigning processes before adding tech to @ENERGY's work with energy operators & @NokiaFederal's emphasis on interoperable networks, the conversation kept coming back to the same question: How do we connect systems without losing human accountability?
Thank you, Reid L'Anson of @Kpler for moderating and Tiffany Swygert of @CMSGov, Emily Burdick of @ENERGY and Richard Miller of @NokiaFederal for participating!
As AI becomes more accessible to federal agencies, how can govt and industry turn adoption into meaningful mission outcomes?
At #POCFedCiv2026, panelists explored the growing role of agentic AI across govt & how agencies are approaching adoption, risk & the tech's potential.
Kevin Meredith of @AWS_Gov shared an example from his father’s experience at a laundry manufacturing company, where the intro of robots changed how employees approached their work. His takeaway: successful automation means adapting workflows to work alongside the technology.
Thank you to Lou Eichenbaum of @ColorTokensInc for moderating the discussion! #POCFedCiv2026 #AgenticAI #FederalIT
What does an AI-augmented federal workforce actually look like?
At today’s summit, panel “Digital Labor in the Workforce of Tomorrow” explored how agencies integrate agentic AI into existing workflows, adapt org structures and empower employees to maximize their expertise.
Tony Gentilcore of @glean discussed how AI can help organizations identify ROI metrics and uncover opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
Thank you to Karim Fadel of @CGI_USFederal for moderating this timely discussion on the evolving role of AI in the federal workforce. #POCFedCiv2026
What does it take to turn AI investment into agency modernization?
At our panel “The One GovCon Effect: Leveraging AI to Accelerate Agency Modernization and Migration,” panelists pointed to a clear starting place: define the mission outcome before choosing the technology.
The main takeaway was clear: credits and tools can help accelerate progress, but agencies also need clear outcomes, cross-functional planning and staff enablement to make modernization work.
Thank you, Chris Martin of @AWS_Gov, for moderating, and Rick Miner of @NOAA, Christopher Radich and Shaan U. of @AWS_Gov, Wade Zarriello of @CMSGov for participating and providing us with great insights!
