Weโve pulled together 5 architecture decisions that can make that next stage considerably easier.

Connected products get misunderstood a lot, mostly because people picture the app and forget the device
Four myths, and whatโs true instead:
Signal drops in basements, warehouses, and vehicles, so decide what the device does offline and what it keeps until it reconnects.
A device that canโt be updated canโt be fixed. Plan over-the-air updates from day one.
Every extra reading costs battery, bandwidth, and storage. Collect what answers a question your user has.
It depends on the feature. Time-critical or private features may belong on the device, and most products use both.
Which myth should we take on next?
If youโre planning a connected product, weโre happy to talk it through ๐ povio.com/lets-talk
How much of your teamโs last release was written with AI, and how much of it did a person check? ๐
@SonarSourceโs survey of 1,100+ developers puts numbers on it. 42% of committed code is AI-generated or AI-assisted.
96% of developers donโt fully trust it to be functionally correct, yet fewer than half, 48%, always verify it before committing.
Developers expect AIโs share to reach 65% by 2027, so the volume of code that needs a second look is only going up.
A sensible place to start is treating review as part of the build, with clear standards for what gets checked, by whom, and how closely.

Replying to @ycombinator
@ycombinator just released its Winter 2027 Requests for Startups ๐
The big theme: AIโs bottlenecks are moving beyond the models and into the systems needed to bring intelligence into the real economy.
Five ideas that stood out to us:
AI that turns smart people without credentials into experts. Think insurance claims, medical billing, taxes, and immigration paperwork, anywhere a credential is the bottleneck.
Permits, inspections, licensing, public records. YC estimates US cities would earn an extra $16B a year in tax revenue if permits were approved in 10% of the current time.
Verify income, tax, and residency once, then apply everywhere. From 2027, states must re-check millions of Medicaid enrollees every six months.
Hospitals, banks, and defense contractors canโt send their data to an AI API. Frontier AI has to run inside their own walls.
Open-weight models now compete with frontier models on meaningful benchmarks, and more companies will want specialised models built on their own data.

The common thread: the next wave of value sits in getting AI to work inside regulated, complex, real-world systems.

Which one would you build?
Moving off an identity provider is easy to plan and hard to finish. ๐
The migration guide covers the scenario where everything works as expected.
It doesnโt cover the Google-only users with no password, the service still trusting the old issuer, or the support queue after MFA re-enrollment.

Planning an identity provider migration?
Do you know how many of your users don't have a password?
Or which services still trust your old issuer?
These rarely show up in the provider's migration guide. Swipe for the three breakpoints we see most. ๐
