Traffic Stop Yields Large Seizure of 174 Handguns and 167 Kilos of Suspected Heroin September 25, 2026 MARSHALL, MICH.  Michigan State Police (MSP) Marshall Post Motor Carrier Officers arrested a male semi-truck driver following a traffic stop about 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 24, on I-69 near Marshall.   During the investigation, officers located and seized 92 bundles containing approximately 167 kilograms of suspected heroin, along with 174 handguns with obliterated serial numbers that were being transported in the vehicle.   The driver was arrested on drug and weapons-related violations.  The investigation remains open and ongoing.   MSP and its partnering agencies remain committed to investigating and disrupting narcotics trafficking and illegal weapons activity to help protect the safety and well-being of Michigan communities.   Anyone with information regarding suspected drug activity is encouraged to contact MSP at MSP-ROTECT@michigan.gov or call the local anonymous tip line at 269-982-8664.   In Southwest Michigan, more lives are lost each year to fatal drug overdoses than to fatal car crashes and homicides combined.   If you or someone you know needs information about substance use treatment, contact Southwest Michigan Behavioral Health at 800-781-0353.   No additional information is available at this time.
