You’ll have missed out on market gains by the time you actually got net positive. Buy a house because you need the room for a family, not because you want an investment. A house is a “forced” investment for people that don’t know where to start but have the money to do so. This is also heavily dependent on your location. The middle of Iowa will be cheaper than Metro NYC.
