Reminder, my profile banner is my literal brain. Transformed from the Hospital data, into a live explorable copy of me.

today, we introduce a little mischief to the world.
for four years, we’ve been brewing real brain cells on electrodes to understand how they compute. now, we’ve turned those discoveries into a video model anyone can use.
from 0.5¢ a second, mischief 1 is at least 5x faster than its base and the cheapest image-to-video model on @fal and @OpenRouter. soon to be on @awscloud marketplace.
it’s not a delusion anymore. biocompute is real, commercial and this is just the beginning.
happy halloween.
Swapped WhisperFlow for Hex (anoma.ly/hex/) working perfectly, and their landing page is insanely good.

In view of Anthropic's recent asshole move, time for me to signal-boost this.
Plugged a wire in the wrong port, miss-spelt Chicago. Motorsport championship was timed, with laptimes running in reverse. Riders were arriving before they left and all sorts.
It is the spooky season. Share a developer horror story that still keeps you awake at night. #CloudflareChat

So
Let me get this straight. Vrchat says they are not going to implement AI flagging becuase it can cause negative review bombing of world creators, so now the internet negatively review bombs vrchat instead, proving without a doubt they are correct not to put anything in place.
95% want something in place, but no one could agree how to implement it without someone getting hurt in the end. What's the fair solution ? Banning it will push underground, accepting it, causes bullying.
The market will support human made products vs ai slop. Dont pay for ai plain and simple.

Made a fun splat lighting demo in Radix.
PBR Gaussian splats: each splat stores base color, roughness, metalness and a normal from the source mesh, so they can be lit in real time.

This is silly but I turned DOOM into a font
The entire game state is calculated inside the font from the sequence of letters you type

95% wanting AI transparency ≠ 95% agreeing on how it should be implemented.
With no clear consensus on labelling and only 33% saying they'd actively avoid AI-assisted worlds, I think VRChat is right to prioritize features with broader support rather than rush a decision.

So since conversation about AI usage in VRChat is buzzing right now I am going to give this post some light again.
VRC devs said they need more time to find where that line is before making an AI label. This post I made at the beginning of the month talks about how using a tool for creating (a brush or UV Packer) that was made with AI and if that was "ethical"
So let me bring this in a more broader, relatable way.
Some of you I'm sure use tools in unity to create and edit. If an individual used said tool to create something BUT it used AI to make the tool NOT the end result would that get an AI label?
Example: if VRC Fury (idk if it did or not, again, example) used AI to code it and you then used it to edit your Avi, would that be considered AI usage?
Some say yes and some say no however I feel it clearly shows the line hasn't been made yet. I think before a label is made we need to make "qualifications" as a community first so the label is clear.
I am already struggling with identifying AI sometimes I don't need to ALSO struggle with where the line stands.
So one thing that I have been in turmoil with as a creator is with inevitable usage of AI is if one such as myself uses a tool such as a substance painter brush or an Automatic UV packer that was made with AI would using that be acceptable?
The end product isn’t made with AI but tools that were used were created with AI. Is that a sort of “reasonable” act to do as a creator?
Are there “good or bad” tools to use?

Alright kids. If you want an AI tag, please present a manageable, scaleable way to decide what worlds are AI!
Should be very easy considering the amount of vitreol some people are spewing at the devs.

95% of survey respondents want some kind of label for AI.
Which is it?
Only a third (33%) would avoid an “AI-assisted” world on purpose.

Seems to me the majority are okay with AI, but that some transparency is still wanted...

I understand this is really upsetting not deal with any AI Slops in VRChat worlds, believe me I’m also not really happy about it.
But if you could’ve read the reasoning why not adding AI tag, you might would’ve understand. If you don’t,
I don’t know what say to you than “think”.
It won’t get any better adding AI tag.
(Well at least for you) you’ll able to avoid it by removing it from category while searching for world, but there might others who would harass honest world creators for using the AI tag, and then other creators might not be telling the truth if their world is made by hand, it’s a complicated setup to moderate. Sure when comes art, they could send proof that it is made by hand with a video, but do you think that the video is real? Or is just another AI creation?
Do you now see what I mean?….
If the quality is good enough you can just lie about using A.I.
Also they might be adding a field dedicated to the tools used in creating the map, so you can avoid A.i maps if they disclose it there.

I really appreciate them being clear that stalking anybody who uses AI is in fact harassment and is not allowed.
