i went to hampshire college during the invention of woke 1. seeing the western ma lesbian bar drama is triggering lol. that shit ruins lives. like i know it’s funny to make fun of them (cuz they’re ridiculous) but also it’s all really evil behavior that should be condemned.
I was a foot soldier if woke 1.0 in college during the 2010s do that lesbian bar article wasn’t shocking in the least basically everyone I was around for extended periods of time in undergrad acted that way lol it was a learning experience for me for sure
The Boston Globe piece about the lesbian bar relaxing its mask policy went so viral because it's an unintentional period piece. If you were in a college campus environment, or certain fields of work, or even lived in certain cities, in 2019-21, you were constantly surrounded by people talking like this, and if you didn't proactively and visibly affirm this sort of nonsense you marked yourself as highly suspect, even dangerous. Now that 99.9% of us have escaped that, it's kinda shocking to be reintroduced to such a sharp example. It's like "holy shit, remember a few years ago when every day of my life sounded like this?"
