We lost our beloved dog, El, to cancer yesterday. My family and I would like to thank all of you who visited Carr’s Hill for events or open houses and showered El with affection, which she absolutely loved. As is true with all dogs, El’s life was too short. (1/2)
Today is my final day in office as President of UVA, and I’ve recorded a few thoughts in this video. Serving in this role has been the honor of a lifetime. youtu.be/ZW-dP8Yo9Gc?si=TtRK…
So appreciative of those who organized the run today and for all the friends, colleagues, and students who came out. Katie and I are more grateful than you know for your friendship and support.
Two extremely deserving doctors have won Thomas Jefferson Awards, which are UVA’s highest honor. Dr. Mohan “Mo” Nadkarni, the recipient of the Thomas Jefferson Award for service, co-founded the Charlottesville Free Clinic in 1992 and teaches Social Issues in Medicine…
25 years ago, we bravely faced Y2K, sent SMS messages with our flip phones, and gawked at a new genre called “reality TV.” Meanwhile, this terrific group of colleagues was busy building UVA into the place we know and love today.
Thank you for your 25+ years of service!
Really enjoyed talking with Meriwether Lewis Institute Fellows about leadership, self-governance, and how to get things done at UVA. This is a terrific group of students who serve their peers and the greater University community…
Reunions weekend is one of the most joyful times of the year, as our alumni reconnect with old friends and rediscover what they love about this place. I enjoyed the chance to speak with many of them about their experiences at UVA and beyond.
We had the chance to honor and celebrate a great champion of the arts at UVA, Joe Erdman, with a portrait unveiling ceremony. A 1956 graduate of the College, Joe has given generously of his time to serve arts organizations at UVA and in Charlottesville.
