Sad to read in @thetimes that Bridget Phillipson is blaming me for delay to EHRC Code. She certainly stoops low. She had Code for 3 months when she sent me this letter last November - no indication of any grandstanding then.

I could not agree more, and I also feel personally vindicated. Being a lay client in litigation was a particularly challenging experience, made bearable by the brilliant and patient lawyers who represented the @EHRC

I am tweeting for the first time since 2022 because today’s judgment was a personal vindication. I’m absolutely delighted, and grateful to the wonderful team who helped us to get this right.

Tomorrow marks 6 months since the Supreme Court #FWS ruling. We’ve written to @bphillipsonMP asking govt to revoke the 2011 services code and lay our updated version to make it statutory. It accurately reflects law and updated guidance is urgently needed orlo.uk/016fL

Lack of appropriate and affordable housing is limiting investment, making recruitment harder, and holding back communities across Scotland.
Our new report, Housing Supply for a Growing Economy, sets out the case for urgent action, focused on five key areas:
• Ambition and oversight
• Rural growth
• Urban certainty
• Modern construction
• Skills and workforce
It’s time to treat housing as essential economic infrastructure.

Please note the extended consultation timeframe for the @EHRC's statutory Code of Practice for Services.
Also note this isn't the Employment Code of Practice. It won't be directly relevant to the application of the Supreme Court judgment in workplaces.
We are updating our statutory Code of Practice for services, public functions and associations, following the Supreme Court’s recent judgment.
We will be launching a consultation on these updates soon. Find out more about arrangements for the consultation: orlo.uk/hOYKO
