Massive congrats to @MallSid – just published in @NatureGenet
Our study defines a series of pathway-derived subtypes (PDS), which we use as the basis for identifying a previously overlooked phenotypic landscape in colorectal cancer…

What if a cancer-causing mutation were less like a ticking time bomb and more like an actor waiting for the right opportunity? Team SPECIFICANCER’s brand new paper gives us an insight.
The new paper from SPECIFICANCER, published in @Nature, reveals that it’s not just the mutation that matters — it’s where in the liver that mutation appears. Understanding which cells can turn cancerous — and why — helps us better predict risk and develop smarter, more targeted treatments.
Congratulations to the #CancerGrandChallenges SPECIFICANCER team (co-funded by @TheMarkFdn). This work was led by Owen Sansom and Future Leader Alex Raven.

What a week in Glasgow at the Beatson conference @CRUK_SI
Highlights for me were talks from Karuna @KarunaGaneshLab , Ken @KenLauLab and Laura Wood 🤩
And our very own Raheleh @RAmirkhah
@lauradelongwood Fantastic to meet you for the first time too, really enjoyed the company and the talk.
Great opportunity to catch up with so many people, to collaborate and discuss science with the speakers 🧬
Enjoyed playing a small part within the committee and looking forward to next year already.

We caught up with researchers from PGJCCR's @DrPipDunne Lab about their trip to April's @AACR Conference in Chicago. @NatalieFisher03 & @MallSid explained how it connected them with collaborators and set out to shape the direction of future research:

Thanks @QUBelfast @HelenColemanQUB for inviting @DrAmandaJCross to give the Charlotte Jackson Gift Lecture today. A great opportunity to share our @CR_UK funded work on the early detection of #BowelCancer & how our findings are influencing policy and patient care #CancerResearch
After 4 days of blistering sunshine on the Ayrshire coast with the family, heading back on the ferry to the homeland this evening.
Looking out at the 12 mile gap that is the closest points separating Scotland & Ireland. Absolutely love these two places
