We have a new doctor in the house! I present to you *DOCTOR* @LoganDClark! Per usual, he was ultra prepared and had back up slides to address all and any question. Said back up slides also included a slide with just a menu that automatically jumped to various subsets of slides 🙃

It has been one of the greatest joys working with Logan. Couldn't ask more from a PhD student 🥹. Forever grateful he picked me as an advisor, for moving universities with me, and always having unbridled optimism--even when he had pivot from his original thesis topic due to Covid

I have not been able to catch a break recently, but historically this meant something good was on the horizon. Well, today the something good happened... Both my PhD students -- Lauren Horde and Nicholas Gardella -- were selected for the NSF GRFP!! 🥳🥳

This is my 2nd full time job every Jan now. It is insane. This year, I went to sign up for two camps on Jan 6 thinking I was on top of things to find that there were already WAITLISTS for said camps 😶

Great day advocating for the science of human factors on Capitol Hill. Having grown up in VA, it was especially exciting meeting staffers of senators (and former VA governors) @timkaine and @MarkWarner Thank you @HFES for giving the Science Policy Fellows this opportunity

Did I win a research award recently? ❌ No. Did I receive new funding as of late? ❌❌ Alas, also no. BUT did I help my daughter win the pumpkin decorating contest at her school? Yes. I present you the fan favorite... @The_Pigeon 🏆!

Riggs Lab alum, @shannydev did a great job presenting her work titled, "The effectiveness of uncertainty communication with varied automation reliability: Specificity is necessary but (potentially) not enough." The findings were based from data from 271 pilots! 👀

Unfortunately they ran out of hard copies at #HFES2022. But there is a special online where you get both books for $20 with free shipping: resight.global/shop. The vendor said they are going to do the whole alphabet 🔤! Upcoming is A for affordances and B for biases
For all of those Human Factors and Ergonomics researchers & practitioners whose parents and friends still don’t understand what you actually do. I give you the ‘H is for Human Factors’ book from Resight Global. Absolutely brilliant 👏 #humanfactors #hfes2022

Been an interesting #HFES2022 so far. Hopped on a 5am flight Mon to make the SPF training but health was trending downhill fast -- was sick with a 24-hr bug. Then slept 24-hr to make sure I got well in time to have dinner with my current and former students yesterday 🙂

My colleagues and mentors, especially the ones that took the time to read my statements and provide counsel over the years. And finally, the people who made it worthwhile, my friends and family ♥️. Anyone who has gone through the TT process knows it's a family affair.
