Tears in my eyes.
Fate will always lead us to the assignments.
I accidentally bought an extra blueberry muffin at this little coffee shop near my gym.
I was already halfway out the door when I noticed, so I handed it to this older guy sitting alone by the window.
Me: “They gave me an extra. You want it?”
Him: “You sure?”
Me: “Yeah. Unless you wanna watch me eat two muffins before 9 a.m.”
He laughed SO hard.
I figured that was it.
Next Tuesday, I walked into the same coffee shop and heard:
“AYYY, MUFFIN GIRL!”
Sir???
Everybody turned around.
It was him.
He had a blueberry muffin sitting across from him.
Him: “Got you one this time.”
So I sat down.
We talked for maybe 10 mins.
After that, it somehow became our Tuesday thing.
Every Tuesday at 8:30, he'd be at that same table.
Sometimes he'd already have my muffin.
Sometimes I'd bring his.
We talked about random stuff. Bad drivers. Grocery prices. His obsession with old movies.
Never anything super deep.
Then one Tuesday, he wasn't there.
Next Tuesday, same thing.
Third Tuesday, I finally asked the barista if she'd seen him.
She got quiet.
Barista: “You don't know?”
Me: “Know what?”
She told me he'd been having cancer treatments nearby.
Apparently, Tuesdays were his treatment days.
He'd started coming to the coffee shop afterward because he hated going straight home to an empty house. ...............
I wanted to Match -make these two people, whom I thought would be perfect for each other, but I didn't because of their heights.
I had to think of the children that would come out of the union.
Ije uwa🤦🏿🤦🏿
I think there has to be a law that says "only single people should and must be at work on rainy days"
I could feel the sadness of the Keke man that carried me earlier today. He made a U Turn to pick me, with the hopes of picking other passengers, but the road was empty. So,I paid for three seats when I got down and my God!, the way his face lit up in appreciation.
Grateful man fr!
God be praised.
Thanks to the stranger for donating.
Yesterday evening, one of the hospitals in Port Harcourt I usually go to donate blood called me to come and donate blood in an emergency.
A woman had just given birth and needed blood urgently. I told the nurse I wasn't in town.
Then I heard her husband shouting in the background:
"We married 10 years ago, and this is our first child. Instead of my wife and my baby to die, let me die. Just give her my own blood, it must match."
Omo, I went cold, I broke down, I didn't know what to say or do at that point.
So I just told the nurse, I'd call a friend who's in town and see if he could come, but someone would definitely come.
Throughout yesterday I wasn't myself.
I kept replaying that man's words: "We married 10 years ago and this is our first child. Instead of my wife and baby to die, let me die, give her my own even if it's not a match."😪
I got a call this morning. It was the nurse.
She said after she dropped my call yesterday, someone with the same blood group as the lady’s walked in and donated.
He wasn't called, didn't ask for money, neither the couple nor the nurses knew him. He just donated and left
So, the nurse called this morning to send regards from the couple, they're all thinking the donor was the friend I said I would call
but the person I even called to ask if he could rush down to the hospital was in Ebonyi yesterday🤦♂️
She said the lady, her baby, and her husband are all OKAY.
The kind of relief and exhilaration I felt this morning, I hadn't felt it in a very long time
Some kind things when person tell you, you go think say na film eh😭
Omo.
There are few things I believe in, Reincarnation is one of them, for, I have seen, many times, people whom I knew from the other life, they too have seen and recognized me.
