“I’m 23 years old… and my clitoris is completely numb, like the back of my elbow. I can’t orgasm. I can’t feel love for my own mother. I can’t even enjoy music anymore.” That was Laureen Friedman’s raw testimony at a recent Safety Advocates on Mental Health Care panel. She lives with PSSD — Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction. After taking Zoloft, she woke up one day with total genital numbness, zero libido, permanent inability to orgasm, and a sudden emotional numbness she describes as “chemical castration” and an “emotional lobotomy.” What used to be a deeply emotional, empathetic, songwriting young woman now feels disconnected from the core human experiences of love and pleasure. She says she was never warned this could happen even after stopping the drug. Millions are prescribed SSRIs every year, often without being told about rare but potentially permanent side effects like PSSD. People deserve full informed consent about what they’re risking. Have you or anyone you know experienced lasting sexual or emotional side effects from antidepressants?

Antidepressants can lead to physical changes in the genitals. Dr. Ahad Waraich, through the use of ultrasounds, has detected penile scarring (fibrosis) in young men experiencing #PSSD. The penile tissue of young PSSD patients usually resembles that of an 80-year-old person.

"We are taught as doctors—we’re not very good at this. Let’s be honest, okay? […] When it comes to medical mistakes, the way to sustain trust and reduce anger and reduce blame is to admit the mistake." @DrAseemMalhotra on last week’s @MAHA_Action Media Hub."

Prescribing SSRIs to children is the biggest scandal in the entire NHS. SSRIs can permanently destroy a child’s sexual function (PSSD) and the vast majority of doctors fail to even warn patients. They also increased suicidal ideation in clinical trials. nitter.cf/PSSDNetwork/status/196…
"There's a huge population of SSRI-eunuchs, many of whom kill themselves out of despair caused by SSRIs, and yet, for some reason, nobody knows this is happening" @TuckerCarlson reacts with shock at the lack of awareness of Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD) among doctors.

We will have a podcast addressing PSSD this week. Sadly, I have had so many desperate people asking us to expose the lack of transparency regarding sexual dysfunction and SSRIs. Still, there are doctors fighting to hide this devastating and sometimes lifelong side effect. Why?
Could you please speak about PSSD? It’s insane the whole world is not talking about this daily. I believe one day it will be recognized as one of the biggest scandals in the history of the pharmaceutical industry.

"limiting emotional range is taking someone's soul emotional range is your soul" At the @allinsummit, @TuckerCarlson answers a question from Jason Calacanis (@Jason) about SSRIs. Tucker also discusses the lack of scientific underpinning for mental health diagnoses.

(1/2) Today is #WorldSuicidePreventionDay. After taking the antidepressant mirtazapine for one month, Kata from Hungary developed PSSD, memory problems and other severe persistent symptoms. She posted this video on November 24, 2017 and took her own life on October 1, 2018.

"The professionalism just isn't there—the willingness to stand up on behalf of the people we're treating, the people we're making money out of. You know, we're not doing it; we're not showing backbone." For international informed consent day, here's a message from @DrDavidHealy.

"Unfortunately, this is something that most people only discover after it's happened to them. And it is a persistent and potentially permanent side effect. We aren't talking about the temporary loss of libido that most people experience." @taperclinic explains the risk of PSSD.

"It's just awful and here's a guy who was given a drug, not with his permission, when he was 7 years old, he made no decision and now he's 19/20 in college without any ability to have sexual activity." Dr. Irwin Goldstein (@SDSexualMed) describes a PSSD patient on @ELHPodcast.

"There's something that is awful in the United States and that is that we haven't updated the labels to warn our citizens about this risk [...] I think that's a failing" Dr. Josef Witt-Doerring (@taperclinic) explains the lack of warnings about PSSD in the USA to @JanJekielek.

The real question about antidepressants is not whether they ‘work’ or not but if the injury they can cause to CNS on using/stopping is reversible or not. Nobody left with an inability to feel human connection (below) cares whether they have a 2 or 10 point effect on HAM-D.

Look at these lies. ”Very effective and very safe”. Neither is true. They are more dangerous than street drugs. Also, if he calls them ”safe”, he likely won’t tell his patients about the risks. He’s not following up with his patients so that he could know what happened to them.

The people on antidepressants aren’t necessarily dangerous, but antidepressants can be dangerous to patients taking them. Can you please look into this @Public_Citizen lawsuit against the @US_FDA concerning permanent harm from SSRIs filed in May of 2024. nitter.cf/MaryanneDemasi/status/…
🚨 FDA sued for not acting on a petition calling for the warning labels on antidepressants to be updated. SSRIs/SNRIs can sometimes cause permanent sexual dysfunction, even after the drug is discontinued, and users have a right to know - even if the risk is rare. blog.maryannedemasi.com/p/fd… @abcsoka @AKECassels @ProfTimNoakes @RobertKennedyJr
