My take on the #AssistedDyingBill and why it ought to be referred to as the Assisted Suicide Bill. We don't like the word 'suicide', but it's unavoidable.

One problem with masking discourse is that some people mean:
A) "I learned some helpful coping mechanisms that helped me socially camouflage" (expected if you are on the mild end of the spectrum and have no ID)
B) "I completely hid and suppressed all of my symptoms" (not autism)
A lot of the time I wish I wasn't autistic. But it has it's perks, like being a 'get out of jail free' card when the neurodiversity mob come after you on X.
Good distinction. It may not have been clear it was autism due to common language, access to professionals, misdiagnosis etc. But there would be very clear signs of impairment to those around you.

Undetected and unidentified is two different things. They were probably called awkward, weirdo, incompetent etc.
Masking so well that your autism went undetected for decades is pretty much an indication you aren't autistic, or you can cope ok without a diagnosis.
Psychiatric language alone is very shallow. No diagnosis penetrates encapsulating who you are as a human being. The psychologisation of everyday life makes everything so flat and systematised. It has it's place, but so does economic language.
'Woe is me!' neurobabble is so tiresome. If you are happily married and hold down a job for 20 years, neither autism or ADHD has 'ruined your life'.
Hmm 🤔
In 2020 Sky News reported Jools Oliver saying that she’d had ‘20 exciting, happy, fun wonderful years married to Jamie’.
Now she’s claiming she’s had 45 years of ruined life because she didn’t have an ADHD diagnosis.🤷♀️
It seems to me that this diagnosis is a very negative thing if it’s made her change her view of her lot so dramatically.
Prime example why Catechumens should occasionally shut up and listen.

Just raise the personal allowance
Stop putting additional cost on businesses resulting in price rises and closures.
Honestly, this is ridiculous now.
It’s going to push so many small businesses passed the brink.
Minimum wage won’t matter to anyone, if there’s no companies to create the jobs .
Bringing my suicidal ideation to Confession was a game changer. For sure there is a large extent that unwanted thoughts and mood changes are beyond ones control. But acknowledging the components we are morally responsible for and seeking healing and forgiveness is pivotal.
But we mustn't abstract the individual from their suicidal ideation. What I fount wonderfully liberating in realising I was indulging in immoral thoughts, is that it was immoral as I am a deeply loved individual. My thoughts were wrong, because God loves me so so much.

I would like to thank all those who have prayed for me in recent days. I wish to express my particular gratitude to the doctors, nurses and all the staff of the Gemelli Hospital. This experience has made me feel particularly close to all those who are living with illness or infirmity. Now that I have overcome this delicate phase I will gradually resume my activities, always with God’s help and your prayers.
Hot take, encountering someone and being really stirred by how 'exhausted' their soul looks is pretty much the most un-autistic response imaginable.
Hot take:
Neurodivergent people can understand social cues just fine. What throws us off is often the INAUTHENTICITY behind them.
So much of society revolves around fake smiles, meaningless small talk, and pretending everything is fine when it clearly isn’t.
Like, babe, I can see that you’re hurting. How am I supposed to comfortably sit here and discuss the weather when your entire soul looks exhausted?
