Some of us are old enough to remember when X sucked.

Slop is making people more aware of their own taste. I like it.
design slop indicators - tags - italicized words - instrument serif, negative kerning - over the top detailed UI - dividers - multiple color shades and opacities - containers with borders - diagrams. the more detailed, the worse - code breadcrumbs - section numbering

Perplexity Computer can now run fully local on your Mac. Work with your native Mac apps and local files, and run tasks without sending sensitive data to the cloud. The model and the agent both run on your Mac. Available now in the Perplexity Mac app.

One way agents are like people is you can predict the quality of their work by how good they are at research.
Gemini 4 Argon sets a new record on WANDR. It is now available in Perplexity for Pro and Max subscribers.

While sandboxes are a commodity, serving millions of them under production-grade traffic requires a lot of detail to scale agents for businesses and consumers. We're open-sourcing the sandbox platform SPACE that powers all of Perplexity Computer to support the ecosystem. github.com/perplexityai/spac…

Our sandbox, SPACE, handles millions of executions a day with an error rate below 0.0002%. We’re sharing how it uses cryptographic identity to keep requests tied to the right execution as sandboxes pause, resume, and move. Read more: perplexity.ai/hub/blog/how-s…

Perplexity doesn’t have competitors, just contributors.
Been running the Hybrid Perplexity Model/Opus 5.5 and it is the best combo ever for local/cloud work ever! There is absolutely no competition with Perplexity right now

For almost 10 million people, Shopify is their career

Either earnest curiosity, or top-tier attention hack. Both are her professions, so hat tip @TaylorLorenz
Can someone fill me in on this guy David Senra’s lore? He came out of nowhere and just randomly does these PR interviews w all the execs. He doesn’t have any qualifications or experience in biz (which is fine!) but what makes him so popular?

We're opening access to anyone (no Perplexity account needed), and we will run all tasks delegated via email for free for a limited time. Forward or CC [email protected] to get started, and the agent will complete the task in the background while keeping the email context.
Computer now works in email. Send, forward, or cc [email protected] on any thread. Every email task runs as a normal session in Computer, viewable on web and mobile, with the same audit trail as any task in the app.

It's hard to name better writers than @CaitlinPacific. But even a mediocre editor should've talked her down from 180 em dashes. This essay wants 68, max.
AI can't write like this. Perfect lede.

How fast you can do big stuff now is like nothing I've ever seen.
We built a replacement for AWS DynamoDB, a key-value database for fast web content fetches. This was done with two engineers and hundreds of persistent Computer agents over two months. Migrating to our in-house database will save us up to a hundred million dollars yearly.

New research: Portable Computer is a local-first agent for private and cost-effective work. With an on-device 27B model, our harness scores 82.6% on real knowledge work, beating open-source harnesses Pi and Hermes. Our post-trained PPLX 27B reaches 85.4%.

Model Council is now available inside Computer. Run independent analysis across multiple frontier models, choose your analysis depth, and get a single cited report on where models agree, where they disagree, and what each found that others missed.

X survived every era of social media to become the only place left where real people share real ideas.
For my first post, I’m sharing a letter @NVIDIA signed on why open models matter. AI will transform every industry, power every company, and be built by every country. Open models strengthen safety and cybersecurity, accelerate innovation and diffusion, and enable sovereignty. The world needs both frontier closed models and frontier open models. images.nvidia.com/pdf/Open-W…
