I was ridiculously excited to meet Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler at the @PublishersAssoc event in Parliament. Having read the Gruffalo so many times to my own children and to my nieces and nephews, it was a delight to meet them in person. Julia told me she grew up in Pilgrim’s Lane in my constituency!
Reading expands our world and sharpens our minds, and that's why I support the National Year of Reading.
