5 years ago this was just casing and a swage sticking out of the ground. Couldn’t even find it.
Today it makes 6 BOPD.
Sometimes the best wells are the ones everyone else walked past.

Blessed!
On Sunday, three-star Lawton (Okla.) QB Noah Smith was in Stillwater at an Oklahoma State camp when the #Sooners called and asked if he could come to the Switzer Center.
He dropped everything, headed to Norman, got an offer and committed on the spot.

Lawton High’s Noah Smith Commits to OU
Every fall, over 10,000 Oklahoma high school students take the field with their school's names emblazoned across their chest and show off every bit of skill and talent they have in hopes of getting a chance to continue their football careers at the next level. While all of them share the same dream only a select few players are considered good enough to go to the college ranks and an even smaller number of players show enough to receive a division one offer. This year Lawton High’s newest transfer, quarterback Noah Smith, will become the newest Lawton athlete to reach the division one level as he has made the decision to commit to the University of Oklahoma.
Smith will be coming to Lawton High for his senior season after spending the last couple of years at Blanchard. Smith finished his junior year at Blanchard accumulating over 2,400 all purpose yards and added 22 total touchdowns. While the production on the field can speak for itself, Lawton High Head Coach Lorenzo Williams believes that Smith has the intangible traits it takes to make the jump to the next level. “It’s the same thing I’ve been saying really,” Williams said, “it’s watch the kid play. Watch him throw, if you got five guys better I'd like to see them.” Williams and Smith have a lot of familiarity with each other as Williams was a longtime coach of Smith’s before his arrival at Lawton High. This relationship combined with Smith’s talents on the field is giving Williams a lot of confidence for his team going into the new season. He believes that this time he has already spent with his quarterback gives them a competitive edge and having so much knowledge of their newest transfer before he ever takes the field should help their offense get off to a fast start. “I think the biggest is getting that connection back.” He said. “We noticed early he was going to be a dude; you watch him throw and it’s like woah, you can really do this.”
Smith knows that this position comes with an immense amount of pressure and is ready to do what he needs to prove why he is the right guy for the opportunity. He is willing to prove himself in any way he can whether it be on the field, in the film room, or even in the locker room. “I know I obviously have to have a good season this year” smith said “I gotta go in there and compete for the position and i gotta show them I want it by studying the playbook and being the first one in and the last to leave.”
Smith and the Wolverines have a lot to prove this year as he looks to lead them back to the playoffs after a disappointing 4 and 6 season in 2025.

Just another day in a shallow waterflood.
In 1991, during the Gulf War, Saddam Hussein ordered the ignition of more than 600 oil wells in Kuwait. The resulting fires burned for months and were so massive they could be seen from space, darkening the skies even in daylight. At their peak, the burning wells consumed up to 6 million barrels of oil per day.
RIP DAC.
I saw him live in a little bar in Longview Texas. I drank wild turkey with them all night after the show. One of the greats.
