Seriously though, how many times is one supposed to try for these things before giving up entirely? Because damn this is depressing.

AI is making me lazier than ever before. I have now realised that I can have AI hooked up to my TeX editor and tell it to TeX up whole equations for me... I have been converted to the slop side.

Replying to @LimYenKheng
I feel like there's a huuuuge difference between getting beat by another professional boxer in an official match (pre-AI scooping) vs getting beat by a heroin addict that broke into your house to steal money (AI scoop by cranks) or betting beat on mafia's order (AI scoop by labs)

As was well-known, and circulated a number of times even on here, Ethan Sussman has been writing up existence of YM4 publicly via Balaban’s approach, and has posted existence of QED3 and YM3 and an old preliminary outline of YM4 on his repo, working with countless community members in understanding the arguments. I kept telling him to not be too deferential and modest because he would be publicly scooped at any opportunity. Instead of contacting him to work with him, as has been suggested publicly many times, the people at OpenAI chose to do this. “Our work builds on Balaban’s approach in constructive quantum field theory. As a subproblem, this work also includes a proof of the existence of pure Yang–Mills theory, which is part of the Quantum Yang Mills Theory Clay Mathematics Institute Millennium Prize problem.”

Seems both companies disproved the Exponential Time Hypothesis
“The core algorithm was found on October 16 by an internal Claude research model with 14M output tokens and no human input. Anthropic researchers worked with Claude to improve the presentation, resulting in this paper.” github.com/anthropics/formal…

This is getting to be insane... Genuinely interested in whether the QFT stuff actually leads to some new physics though

*guy who has never heard music before last week* Do....do you about Fleetwood Mac??
Opinión impopular: Glee puso muchas canciones en el radar con sus covers, pero la manera que saco del olvido GO YOU OWN WAY de Fleetwood Mac es historico.
