Some one who could make a time machine. Sign me up. Even though it’s physically impossible. Dynamics and space time stuff. But still.

I was out all day everyday. Came home when the street lights turned on. Do my homework before the weekend so I could have fun. I feel for today’s young kids who never got to experience the fun we had.
Spike Lee says β€œthere is something lost” now that the current generation of kids spend more time inside on their phones: β€œI don’t want to sound like an old fuddy-duddy but I’m an old fuddy-duddy, but kids used to get together and play on the streets, adults had nothing to do with it, and during summertime you’d have to be back before the lights come on. We played Bootys Up, stickball, stoop ball, you name it.” Read the full interview: wp.me/pc8uak-1lI3tK

I’ve seen commercial planes flying at a low ground level. So I would definitely jump out of my skin if I seen a plane crash happen just a few feet from me. Dam well would freak me out. That’s no exaggeration either. πŸ˜‘πŸ™ˆ

NEW: Early voting is surging in GOP-leaning counties in Minnesota, with counties previously won by Trump seeing the fastest growth in early voting, according to Newsweek. Pollster John McLaughlin suggested today that Michele Tafoya (R) could win the MN Senate race. "The Republicans have their best shot in 20 years at winning the state," says political science professor David Schultz. Some Democrat voters have also reportedly crossed over and voted for Tafoya, directly blaming Flanagan for the fraud crisis in Minnesota, considering she was 2nd in command behind Gov. Tim Walz. "... Seven rural counties previously won by Trump have seen some of the state's fastest growth in early voting since 2022... Swift, Clearwater, Chisago, Renville, Rice, Wadena, and Winona," Newsweek reported. On the Benny Show today, McLaughlin said he wouldn't be surprised to see an upset in the Minnesota U.S. Senate race between Tafoya and Flanagan. Get out and vote!

I remember seeing a big tree stump split down the middle like a toothpick. And that was after a violent thunderstorm. Nature is deadly. You can’t beat it.
Commercial airlines still remains one of the safest means of traveling. Weather can’t bring down an airbus A350

The ice took down the jet and it plunged into a rapid descent. At that moment when they knew there was nothing that could be done. And you got the first responders who go deal with this. God bless them. Because I couldn’t do it.

I don’t think age was a factor in the jet crash. Even the most experienced pilots had probably been through worse situations and prayerfully made it out alive. It can happen to anyone.

Looks like the storm cell rose rapidly from below and appeared like a mini-hurricane. The LearJet flew right into it. South Florida is NOT a beginner-friendly place to fly especially from June - November and especially around midday, when convective activity is common. You can suddenly hit a strong updraft even with nothing displayed on the weather radar, then something pops up right under or in front of you, and it’s hard to even change heading. Yes pilots are supposed to keep a wide berth of these cells but when they develop that quickly the margin for error shrinks dramatically. This is a great visualization that reconstructs weather pattern and flight path simultaneously:

Thunderstorms can grow faster than an aircraft can climb, and they frequently overshoot the tropopause. A cell that is at 35–40,000 ft can reach 45–50,000+ ft in a short time, as the cell that brought down the Learjet yesterday did. Once you are committed to a climb over it, you may have nowhere left to go. Even if the top is below your altitude, the updrafts, turbulence, and icing associated with a rapidly intensifying cell can extend well above the visible or radar-indicated top. High-altitude performance is limited. A Learjet (or most business jets) at FL350–FL410 is already near its service ceiling in many conditions; the ability to climb another 5–10,000 ft quickly, especially in warmer or turbulent air, is not guaranteed. Onboard weather radar has limitations at high altitude (attenuation, beam width, and the fact that it shows precipitation, not the full extent of turbulence or icing risk). What looks like a gap or a lower top can change rapidly. Standard guidance says Aviation training and operating procedures (FAA, company ops manuals, etc.) emphasize: Avoid thunderstorms by at least 20 nm laterally when possible. Do not fly under or through them. Do not rely on flying over them as a primary strategy, especially with any indication of rapid development. If deviation is needed for safety of flight, do it and advise ATC; you do not need a clearance first to avoid an immediate hazard. Only an experienced pilot might know this at a 'gut' level.

Just answer me this question. Even if you had the most experienced pilot, would you or would you not risk flying in bad weather? I’m not downing on the victims. I’m just saying overall.

Helen Sharp's family has released a statement following her death in the tragic plane crash in Florida. Sharp, her husband, their two children, their nanny, their two friends, and two pilots sadly lost their lives in the crash. "On behalf of friends and family, it is with a heavy heart that we share that our dearest Helen was taken from us too soon. If you knew Helen, you knew how full of life she was. She simply radiated. Helen was talented, creative, and so much fun. She loved to travel and was a gifted ceramic artist. She spent years living abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she met the love of her life, Adam, and started her PR company, Influential PR.Β  Together, they built a life rooted in family, adventure and love. Helen adored her family. Her happiest place was next to Adam and their two beautiful children, along with their dog Bonnie, who was always by her side (and usually in her lap).Β  Helen had friends from every chapter of her life: those she grew up with in Houston, her friends from the University of Arizona, and the many people she met during her years abroad and their time in Austin and Aspen.Β  To know Helen was to love her. The number of people grieving Helen and Adam is a testament to how many people were lucky enough to have them in their lives. Helen embodied a life well lived. She embraced the world, made beautiful things, built lasting relationships, and loved her people fiercely.Β  Her light was extraordinary, and it will continue to shine through the artwork she made, the legacy she built, and the countless lives she touched."
