On thing I love about evolutionary psychology:
It helps men and women understand the other sex better. It helps each sex appreciate and respect the cognitive, emotional, and motivational traits of the other. It improves 'cross-sex Theory of Mind'. It increases mutual appreciation in relationships.
Most other fields in the social and behavioral sciences have exactly the opposite effect. By treating women as defective variants of men, or men as defective variants of women, or denying the differences altogether, or pretending that 'sex is just a social construct', they nuke cross-sex Theory of Mind. They leave everyone bewildered, embittered, and resentful.
Ok lads: imagine you aren’t horny at all. Not even slightly. You’re busy fixing a shelf or ironing your suit or watching your favourite TV show. Zero sexy feelings. Your girlfriend sighs loudly and goes “can we have sex now” in whingy voice and then grabs your ass.
