Seventeen Michigan Jewish Democratic officials, party leaders and activists have joined a campaign asking Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed to affirm commitments on Jewish safety and Jewish sovereignty in Israel.
Organizers say their requests have gone unanswered for three weeks. El-Sayed’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment by publication.

Florida-based Raed Yousef, 56, is charged with funneling tens of thousands of dollars to Hamas.
Investigators said Yousef conspired to fund the terror group with a French org, a Hamas member in Gaza, and a U.S. citizen in Louisiana (not named).
Yousef sent more than $45,000 to the French organization, knowing that the funds would be channeled to Hamas. The French group sent more than $330,000 in total to cryptocurrency accounts controlled by the terror group, prosecutors said.
In January 2024, Yousef told his co-conspirator, “Just tell them these are needy people in Gaza.”.
In April 2024, Yousef said, “Jews are brutal… May God take revenge against them.” Months later, he said, “They need to be slaughtered, to behead them and display their heads.”
Yousef was born in Kuwait, raised in Jordan, and moved to New York with his family as a teenager. He became a U.S. citizen in 1991. The family later relocated to Florida.
Yousef owns six beauty supply stores in central Florida.

When I was in Amsterdam last August I was more concerned about the Islamist majority in the streets than I was about Galilee wine. The Dutch have a problem and it isn’t Israel.
The Dutch authorities forced all passengers arriving from Tel Aviv to Amsterdam on an El Al flight to pass through a customs inspection to see if they had products from Judea and Samaria or the Golan Heights with them.
A nativity scene from Bethlehem brought into the Netherlands could result in 6 years in prison after a new law pushed through by the Dutch government a few days ago.

Ten months after 15 people were murdered at a Chanukah event on Bondi Beach, a preacher in Melbourne told his followers not to take Jews and Christians as friends and to "take up arms" against the enemies of Allah.
His name is Abu Ahmad, and he preaches at the Al Bayyinah Islamic Centre in Springvale. The centre is backed by Sydney preacher Wisam Haddad, whose Bankstown centre the alleged Bondi shooter reportedly attended. An Australian investigation found that Haddad had rebuilt a national pro-ISIS network, with Al Bayyinah as its Melbourne arm. In the same sermon he talked about Jews and Zionists trying to break Muslims, and pointed to a well-known antisemitic conspiracy book.
And in January, the Australian government dropped the laws that would have let it go after hate preachers like him.
Jews were murdered on a beach in Sydney, and the same kind of hate is still being preached openly in Melbourne. How many more Jews have to die before Australia wakes up?
