The Garvaghy Road community have shown us exactly what people are capable of when we come together and stand united against sectarianism, and hate. People power and solidarity overcame the orange orders attempt to divide and conquer, this points toward a better and united future
Funding for Housing & Local Gov Dept 2026 €11.3 billion in 2027 €9.4billion, a cut of €1.9 billion! So clearly no plan to ramp up delivery of social and affordable housing. Not even a mention of raising the social housing income thresholds, Disgraceful!
Despite Govt claims this would be a budget for workers, tax and USC changes will give only 1.5% and for many less and under 1% while inflation is 3.5%. So in real terms workers income is being cut, certainly not covering the cost of living hikes. Workers need to fight and strike.
🔺Budget 2027 main points
Simon Harris said this Government’s second budget, and his first as Minister for Finance, “balances today’s needs with tomorrow’s musts”, and is fair to those “working now” as well as those who are retired.
But what is in the budget and what does it have for you? Here are the main points: irishtimes.com/your-money/20…
Inspiring and uplifting show of resistance, solidarity and unity at the Garvaghy Rd today. An honour to be standing with this courageous community with the unmistakable message that there is no going back to the days of sectarian division and Orange supremacy.
Great to see thousand of students protesting outside the Dáil, demanding abolition of college fees, affordable student accommodation & proper funding for 3rd level. It makes no sense for government to put financial obstacles in the way of higher & further education. F**k fees!
For a second week, the government voted down our proposal for a full Dáil debate on the threat of a sectarian Orange march down Garvaghy Rd and the Government's responsibility under the Good Friday Agreement to ensure communities in the North are free from sectarian harassment.
The stand-off in Portadown over a contentious Orange Order parade has entered its third day, with dozens of residents maintaining a presence on the Garvaghy Road rte.ie/news/politics/2026/09…
Why Gavin Bazunu was so right not to play with Israel and how depraved the culture of the Israeli regime is. These "fans" cheering the name of the Israeli military that slaughtered tens of thousands of children, women & men. They are celebrating genocide. Stop the next game!
This Irish government and FAI should hang their heads in shame. Gavin Bazunu has shown, the courage and leadership they so sadly lack. Even at this late hour the Government and FAI should do the right thing, call the game off and not leave this on the shoulders of players.
Well done Gavin Bazunu! A brave and principled stand. You have done what the government and FAI shamefully failed to do. Palestinians are suffering the genocide and dehumanisation that Irish people suffered. You stand in a proud tradition of resisting such oppression. Respect!
Eternal respect to Gavin Bazunu who is OFFICIALLY NOT PLAYING against genocide 🇮🇪👏👏👏
Time for the rest to join him in solidarity. They said they would stick together.

Shameful decision of Parades Commission to allow sectarian, supremacist Orange march down Garvaghy Rd. This march has no other purpose than to inflame sectarian hatred and division to politically benefit a weakening unionism and undermine 28 years of progress for the community.
#Breaking The Parades Commission of Northern Ireland has allowed the Orange Order parade at Drumcree to proceed in a limited capacity for the first time in 28 years rte.ie/news/2026/0925/159298…
Well done to @macklemore for taking a principled stand for Palestine and humanity. Great to see him come to Dublin. Free Palestine and let's build a world where human solidarity comes before hate and greed.
What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage. When the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed on stage and which ones are too dangerous to hear, everyone should be paying attention.
So we're going on tour. All proceeds will benefit organizations supporting the Palestinian people and movement.

Well said @TheNewReview2 Martin. Great to see three great artists of principle, standing with Palestine and humanity at the top of the Irish charts. Let's take our world from the billionaires, bullies & Imperialists!
The top 3 tunes on iTunes Ireland right now!!!
W/ @macklemore & Aaron Rowe!
Are ye listening to the people @FAIreland @IrelandFootball ????
STOP THE FUCKING GAMES.
Couldn't be more proud of @aaronrowemusic for having the principle and courage to stand selflessly with Palestine & humanity against Israel's genocide and the billionaires who support their crimes. He has upheld Ireland's proud tradition of standing against colonialism & Empire.
Ed Sheeran’s tour opener, Irish singer Aaron Rowe, has dropped out of the tour:
“As Irish people we know all too well about genocide, forced famine and violent occupation. I cannot stand by and allow billionaires to use their position of power to silence the rightful voices of those who speak up against Israeli genocide and who highlight the savage murder of children. I would lose all respect for myself to carry on as normal.”
Disappointing and shameful move by @edsheeran to drop @macklemore from his tour because he spoke up for Palestine. With Ireland's history of oppression and suffering under colonialism, surely Ed should understand the need to stand with victims of genocide and occupation.
Tomorrow, Ireland will say no to Trump! He is not welcome here.
We need people from all over Ireland to show up and protest against Toxic Trump. Stand together in solidarity against his far-right hate.

Disgracefully, dara centres owned by tech billionaires are hoovering up a quarter of Ireland's electricity and driving up energy bills for ordinary people but are paying half the price for their electricity that ordinary households are paying! Our proposal will reverse that.
People Before Profit leader Richard Boyd Barrett has said his party will introduce a private member's motion proposing a levy on data centres and use the revenue it raises to fund energy credits for households

The government have been forced back to the Dáil to implement half measures because they fear protests. What should be in front of the Dáil today are concrete plans to shield working people from paying the costs of Trump and Netanyahu’s wars.
Tragic and terrible that Glen Hansard is gone. An incredible talent and someone who again and again used his passionate voice to challenge social injustice, war and racism. Very proud to have worked with him in a number of campaigns over the years. Deep sympathies to his family.

Just left prison visit in Ulm Germany with Daniel Tatlow Devalley.. Shocked at the inhumane conditions. Locked-up 23 hours a day alone for 10 months, treated as a dangerous criminal for protesting against the export of weapons to Israel's genocide in Gaza. Brutal and inhumane.
A group of seven Irish politicians have travelled to Germany to attend the trial of an Irish man and four other pro-Palestinian activists charged with causing about €1 million worth of damage at the factory of an Israeli-owned defence company.
