My main takeaway from @meokalorama (apart from it being a lovely old time, and much recommended) is that @Youngfathers are the best live band of 2023. (You can’t) prove me wrong.
Day one at @meokalorama and it’s not a bad view is it?… @pongoklassic currently absolutely killing it on the main stage. Music almost tailor made to open festivals in 30 degree heat and get you dancing.
Very fortunate to be in Lisbon for @meokalorama we are *so* excited to see some of our all time favs and to find some new Portuguese and other international artists. Hidden gems found will be coming to the next podcast episode next week!
In case any listeners are wondering we did try to get press accreditation for Reading+Leeds this year but we couldn’t even get the press office to reply to our emails to send us the form to apply so…maybe next year? 🤷♂️ we came to the largest arts festival in the world instead
And next week? Well next week we’re off to @meokalorama in Portugal and we CANT WAIT. New (well overdue!) podcast episode to follow the week after! Exciting times to come
So obviously we are normally a new music podcast so tweet about that sort of thing, but I (Sam) am at the Edinburgh fringe for a week so expect a LOT of comedy and theatre stuff of what I’m loving (a 🪡 of indeterminate length…)
So Graham on the Green by @IvoGraham was…everything. It‘s left me completely emotionally floored. I can’t imagine the emotional bravery it must take, and toil it must extract, to do it every day, but the world is better for it. Beg, steal, do whatever you have to, but see it.
it was devastating, heart wrenching, inspiring, beautiful, poignant, funny and honest, honest, honest, *honest*. And 100% theatre. Thank you @IvoGraham for creating it and sharing it; it really meant a lot.

Whatever you think of the sentence that accompanies this video (I couldn’t possibly comment)… the message in this speech is brilliant and supremely powerful. Inspirational. This should be taught in the curriculum. 🩵💥
Please listen to this speech by @GovPritzker. It perfectly explains both the cruelty and stupidity of the people now ruling Brexit Britain.
