Donna has already watched both of her puppies find their forever homes. Now it's her turn! ❤️ Donna arrived at our shelter with her two puppies, looking for food and somewhere safe to rest. Both of her little ones have since been adopted into loving homes in Sweden, but this beautiful mama is still waiting for a family of her own. At four years old, Donna is a gentle, affectionate girl with a curious nature. She can be a little cautious when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, she's more than happy to come over for cuddles and affection. Donna would love a family who can take her on lovely long walks and give her the opportunity to explore the world beyond the shelter. She's also attentive and responsive around other dogs and could happily share her home with a canine companion. After taking such good care of her puppies, we'd love nothing more than to see Donna enjoying the love and security of a home of her own. ❤️ 📍 Donna is available for adoption in the UK and Sweden. Learn more about Donna: sponsoradog.rolda.org/dog/do… 🐾 If you're not able to adopt, you can also sponsor Donna from anywhere in the world while she waits for her forever home. #givehopewithROLDA #adoptadog #dogadoption #rescuedogs #romanianrescuedog

🚨 Winter is coming, and we want to get Little Haven as far along as possible before the harsh Romanian weather sets in. Can you help us finish building Romania’s first cage-free shelter? Earlier this year, we broke ground on a project we have dreamed about for years: transforming one of our existing shelters into Romania’s first cage-free rescue centre. Since then, the foundations have been completed, construction has moved forward and now the walls are going up. 🥹 Little Haven has been designed to give rescued dogs more space, comfort and enrichment, while creating an environment that helps prepare them for the biggest next step of all: life with a family of their own. We’re incredibly proud of how far it has come, but there is still so much work ahead. As winter approaches, we want to put as many resources as possible behind construction and make the most of the time we have before the weather makes building more difficult. Could you help us keep building Little Haven? Donate today and create a better future for generations of rescued dogs: rolda.org/donate/ ❤️ #givehopewithROLDA #animalshelter #dogrescue #animalcharity #helpushelpthem

At just 4kg, Ninni may be tiny, but there is a whole lot of love packed into that fluffy little body. ❤️ Ninni is eight years old and an incredibly sweet, social girl who loves being close to people. She enjoys cuddles, happily seeks out attention and would love a home where she can be included in everyday life. She was rescued from the streets and is now ready for the comfort and security of a family of her own. She can live with other dogs and would thrive with a consistent routine where she can settle in at her own pace. Nothing would make her happier than having a lap of her own to curl up in 🥹 Ninni is still learning to walk on a lead, but she does not need an experienced owner, making her a lovely companion for someone ready to give a rescue dog the love and patience she deserves. Ninni is available for adoption in the UK and Sweden. Learn more about Ninni: sponsoradog.rolda.org/dog/ni… 🐾 You can also sponsor Ninni from anywhere in the world while she waits for her forever home. #givehopewithROLDA #adoptadog #dogadoption #romanianrescuedog #rescuedogs

Ukrainian soldiers found Bohun near the frontline, sick, exhausted and desperately needing help. ❤️‍🩹 They brought the tiny shepherd puppy to our ROLDA Hero, Irina, who could immediately see how much he was suffering. His skin was covered in painful sores, large patches of fur were missing, and the constant itching meant he was scratching his already damaged skin. Sometimes, the pain became so much that he would cry. We named him Bohun after a legendary Cossack colonel, and now our little fighter has started the long process of getting better. His recovery will take weeks and requires specialist medication, medicated shampoos, skin care and good-quality food to help his body recover. Bohun has already had people choose not to leave him behind. First the soldiers who found him, and now Irina and the people helping fund his care. Could you help give this little boy the chance to grow up healthy and loved? rolda.org/donate/ ❤️ #givehopewithROLDA #dogrescue #rescueheroes #animalrescuestories #secondchance

“It is truly powerful to be part of a team and community that continues to strive for the welfare of animals worldwide on a daily basis and the new ways in which we collaborate to put them at the fore of our mission. I cannot wait to see how we can continue to impact the lives of dogs who are suitable for rehoming, whilst addressing the negative connotations and perceptions of what adopting a dog from overseas means. I remain incredibly touched by our adopters who are committed on so many levels to the dogs they have welcomed into their homes, with a complete understanding and openness to their needs and what they have been through.” Maddy, UK Adoptions Manager This is what 20 years of ROLDA looks like, through the people who made it possible. As we mark our 20th year in 2026, we are incredibly grateful to the people on the ground rescuing animals, the teams supporting them behind the scenes, and the supporters who make this work possible - here’s to another 20 years of impact and giving hope to animals who need it most ♥️🐾 #animalrescue #givehopewithROLDA

There are over 500,000 stray animals in Romania, and the heartbreaking reality is that suffering can become something people simply get used to seeing 💔 Alma had been living on the streets of Bucharest with a deep, open wound on her abdomen. It wasn’t a new injury. She had been seen before, and people knew she was hurt, but nobody had stepped in to help her. Until one of our ROLDA Heroes did ❤️‍🩹 Alma was taken for X-rays, where thankfully no internal injuries were found, before undergoing surgery to clean and close the wound. Her recovery will take time, but she is now receiving treatment and has somewhere safe and warm to heal. With so many stray animals on the streets, it can be easy to assume that someone else will help, or to become desensitised to seeing an animal struggling. We never want suffering like Alma’s to become something we simply accept. No animal’s pain should be ignored. We’re incredibly grateful to the ROLDA Hero who chose to stop for Alma, and to every person who supports our work so that when the next animal needs someone to notice them, we can be there. ❤️ If you would like to contribute to Alma’s ongoing care, please consider making a donation: rolda.org/donate/ #givehopewithROLDA #catrescue #romaniancatrescue

Across Ukraine, local rescuers are doing everything they can to care for animals whose lives have been turned upside down by the war. Our ROLDA Rescue Hero, Lyudmilla is one of them. Every day, she cares for stray cats who are hungry, sick or injured, providing food and helping them access veterinary treatment when they need it. She knows these animals and the communities they live in, but the resources available to her are limited. That’s where ROLDA, and your support, can make a difference. By supporting our ROLDA Heroes, we can provide rescuers like Lyudmilla with the resources they need to continue showing up for animals who have nobody else to rely on. Could you help us support Lyudmilla and other ROLDA Heroes caring for animals in Ukraine? If you’re looking for a dog who absolutely loves his people, Jder might be your boy. ❤️ Rescued from the streets, Jder is a friendly and affectionate six-year-old who loves spending time with people. He has a gentle, sweet nature and is happiest when he can enjoy plenty of human company. Jder walks well on a lead and has a moderate energy level, so he would love a family to share his walks and everyday adventures with. Although Jder gets along well with other dogs, he is looking for a home where he can be the only dog and enjoy having his family to himself - something he deserves after all he’s been through. Jder is available for adoption in the UK and Sweden. This sweet boy was found on the streets of Galați, Romania, with severe injuries to his back legs and was clearly in pain. We don’t know what happened to him, but the person who found him knew he needed help and contacted ROLDA. We were able to get him straight to our vet, where his injuries could be treated and his recovery could begin. His wounds are serious and he still has a long way to go, but every day we are seeing a little more progress. He is safe, receiving the care he needs and finally has the chance to leave his suffering behind. So many rescues begin with someone simply choosing not to look away. If you ever see an animal in need and have the opportunity to help, please choose kindness. It could change their life. ❤️ #givehopewithROLDA #dogrescue #animalrescue #animalrescuestories #secondchances

Dogs might be a big part of what we do, but they’re far from the only animals we help. 🐾 ROLDA stands for animal welfare, and that means showing up for animals in need, no matter the species. Over the years, that has meant rescuing and supporting dogs, cats, donkeys, pigs, rabbits and so many others who needed someone in their corner. ❤️ We’ll never turn our backs on an animal who needs help, and with your support, we can keep giving hope to more animals. Your donation could help us continue being there for animals who need us: rolda.org/donate/ 🐾 #givehopewithROLDA #animalrescue #savethemall #animaladvocate #rescuestories

When our ROLDA Hero found this beautiful girl in Palestine, she was dirty, hungry, injured and completely alone 😓 She was frightened and wouldn’t let anyone get close enough to help her, but leaving her behind simply wasn’t an option. Our ROLDA Hero used a humane trap to safely rescue her and took her straight to the vet, where she is now being examined and receiving the care she needs. We don’t know the full extent of her injuries yet, and we don’t know exactly what her recovery will look like. What we do know is that her life has already changed 🥹 She is off the streets, she is safe, and there are now people fighting to give her the second chance she deserves. ❤️‍🩹 This is what your support of our ROLDA Heroes makes possible. It gives local rescuers the resources to step in when an animal desperately needs someone to notice them and choose to help. This month, our Pet of the Month is a little rescue dog who has been making a very big impression: Rosa! 🐾 Rosa didn’t have the easiest start in life, but since finding her forever family in the UK, she has shown everyone just how incredible rescue dogs can be. She is loving, intelligent, adventurous and apparently rather award-winning too! Earlier this year, Rosa entered her local dog fete and came home with Best Rescue Dog AND Best in Show. 🥹🏆 Her past has never stopped her from embracing everything her new life has to offer, and seeing her so loved, confident and thriving is exactly what we hope for every dog who comes into ROLDA’s care. Rosa’s story is also a beautiful reminder of what can happen when someone chooses to give a rescue dog their chance. ❤️‍🩹 Could your rescue pet be our next Pet of the Month? rolda.org/petpal-gallery/ ✨ Entries are open worldwide, and the winner will be featured on our website and social media and receive their very own ROLDA bandana. #givehopewithROLDA #rescuedogs #happytails #foreverhome #rescuechihuahua

Mark’s previous owner left him at a veterinary clinic and never came back ❤️‍🩹 He was unfortunately abandoned by his family simply for being a dog and occasionally barking at birds, a behaviour that could have so easily been addressed. Mark didn’t understand why the person he trusted disappeared, but despite being left behind, he remains a sweet and loyal boy who loves being close to people. He can be slightly hesitant when meeting someone new, but quickly settles and forms strong bonds once he feels comfortable. At almost six years old, Mark is ready for the second chance he deserves. He enjoys his walks, gets along well with other dogs and could happily share his home with a canine companion. Mark is around 23kg and is available for adoption in the UK and Sweden. For today only, your donation will be doubled: rolda.org/matching-gift-chal… More than 27,000 animals have made it out of some of the most dangerous areas of Ukraine because our ROLDA Heroes were willing to go in and get them. Our ROLDA Heroes see some incredibly heartbreaking cases 😔 In areas affected by conflict, emergency support for animals caught directly in the crisis is essential. At the same time, everyday rescue work cannot stop. Animals are still abandoned. They still become sick and injured, and they still need emergency veterinary care. The people trying to help them are doing so while resources are already incredibly stretched. That’s why your support of our ROLDA Heroes matters so much. When this senior dog was found in Palestine, he had been lying on the street unable to walk for almost two weeks. He had suffered severe injuries, his wounds were badly infected, and by the time our ROLDA Hero was contacted, he desperately needed medical attention. Your support meant we could help our ROLDA Hero step in and get him to a veterinary hospital, where he received the intensive treatment he needed to survive. He still has a long recovery ahead of him, but he is eating and getting stronger. Most importantly, he now has the opportunity to experience a very different life from the one he was rescued from. ❤️‍🩹 Supporting ROLDA means helping us be there for our Rescue Heroes when an animal needs them most: rolda.org/donate/ #givehopewithROLDA #animalrescue #palestine #dogrescuepalestine
