Hill-Murray Football team is fundraising again this year for the Randy Shaver Tackle Cancer Research and Community Fund @RSCRCF. This fundraiser is so much bigger than football and I would love to see my T-shirt and all of my teammates packed with names to raise support for a GREAT cause. Each player on the roster has been asked to raise $700. Last year, my FAN CLUB raised over $1,200. My goal is to beat that this year and I would truly appreciate your support! Our fundraiser is short and sweet - just one week - but it gives us plenty of time to wrap things up before game week so everyone can wear their shirts to our Tackle Cancer Game… which is also Senior Night, October 14th, making it extra special. We all know people affected. I wear #22 in football and soccer to honor my Grandpop who we lost to a rare, aggressive cancer. I have an amazing cousin who is currently battling stage 4 breast cancer after beating it into remission almost a decade ago. My incredible teammate, Jack, beat a rare form of childhood cancer and this fundraising initiative is being organized by his awesome mom. There are so many more stories of family and friends - mine and yours - who have battled this awful disease.
