Can AI and crypto mining bridge the energy access gap? It might sound unlikely — but new innovations are reshaping what’s possible for #cleanenergy access in #Africa.
More than 600 million people across Africa still live without electricity. And 78% of them can’t afford even $5 a day to power basic #solar solutions. So how do we make Mission 300 — a bold effort to electrify 300 million people by 2030 — financially viable?
According to GEAPPs Alliance, startups like @exolabs, @Liquidstar, Overclock Labs, creators of @akashnet , an Virunga Energies are flipping the script. By embedding AI models and crypto applications into mini-grids, they’re generating 5-10x more revenue per unit of energy — making electricity cheaper for underserved communities.
Datacenter bans went 40/41 on ballots and 1/4 of all datacenter construction will probably be blocked due to Texas.

The biggest difference between this and today is every single player here would have taken an extra touch today and the chance would have been gone

The energy in NYC when everyone in the city is bought in on something, be it the Knicks, Halloween, Marathon etc. is just unmatched.
So special. So fun.

We talk a lot about Europes welfare state but the debt to GDP in the US is 127% (this is after DOGE) where as France is 118% and Germany is 64%. The euro aggregate is 83-89%. France and the US are close while from a debt perspective Germany and Europe as a whole are significantly better than the US.
Household debt to GDP including mortgages is 65% in the US compared to 50% in Europe. Corporate non financial debt in the US is 45% vs Europe 54%.
The US spends 47% on social security and healthcare vs Europes 55%. Directionally as well Europe has been able to at least cut some budgets and services and raise the minimum retirement age. The US has not been able to even do that.
We spend about 2.5x more annually on defense and interest as Europe relative to our budgets.
Our deficit to GDP ratio is 6% compared to Europe’s 3%. Which means we are effectively funding our 1.5-2x higher growth with debt.
If you want to get conspiratorial … while higher energy prices from Ukraine / Russia and Iran war have had a massive negative impact on Europe’s economy from increased energy prices. From a US GDP perspective it’s been helpful as the US is the number one producer of Energy. Net Income for Oil and Gas in the US was up $241B in 2022, to $281B, refineries operating at 96% of capacity, and some of the highest margins ever. This is an industry (specifically shale) that before the Russia vs Ukraine and Iran was not turning a profit and experiencing massive amounts of debt… The cost to the US government of Ukraine/Russia ($196B appropriated) and the Iran War ($47B through mid-October 2026) is less than the cumulative net income it’s made US oil and gas companies from increased energy prices since 2022.
The US and Europe have very similar problems except our welfare state instead of giving money directly to older individuals has been giving it to the same age of people by propping up the value of stocks, homes etc.
This is why the US we need to resist these insane urges to get rid of property tax, cut capital gains etc and at a minimum increase our estate tax to at least 40% and eliminate things like step up basis. Otherwise we will end up in a much worse position than Europe.
Reminds me of the 1989 Forbes List
In a democracy you can’t choose a side, declare the other side your enemy, and not call out the bad behavior/consolidation of power of people on your side.
The things you do and put in place you need to assume the other side will do 10x.
The way everyone has been acting has been as if it would be impossible for democrats to win again.
There is a reason no one knows who Jamie Dimon voted for…
My biggest concern is that if there is a clean sweep by Democrats of the House, Senate and Presidency in 2028, they will:
1. Make DC and Puerto Rico states to gain a strong majority in the Senate.
2. Open the borders and legalize everyone living in America illegally to cement a permanent majority.
3. Increase the size of the Supreme Court to gain an immediate majority.
This would result in America becoming a permanent one-party state and the end of democracy in any meaningful sense of the word.
All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one.

Still blows my mind someone at Google would of came up with the idea of Google Maps / Google Earth
Then suggested that they drive down every road on the planet and take pictures of it
And then they actually went and did it
For all of the AI agents and vibe coded apps it is insane that no one has made an agent or app that hotel employees can use to speed up the check in.
What. Are. They. Typing.
This is on the money the improvement of quality of US players in the last 15 years has been incredible.
On the flip side I think now that we have more conventionally good players it makes it easier for opponents to play us and we aren’t really getting better results as a team. We’ve gotten rid of ODP/Region 1/Bradenton/IMG so these guys aren’t really growing up consistently playing with each other day in day out.
We are still also missing a couple of those it factor stars and coaching / tactics but it’s in the right direction.
Outing myself:
I’m a mega soccer fan and in particular a USMNT fan
I follow all the young Americans playing in Europe
Most people have no idea how much youth soccer development has improved in America over the last 15 years
This is because of changes at the MLS academies, especially Philadelphia Union and NY Red Bulls (but also others)
We saw it in this international window with the success of youngsters: Cavan Sullivan, Mathis Albert, Julian Hall, etc
This kid though, Alex Freeman, is something different
His father was a Super Bowl winning wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers
Freeman is now one of the most promising young right backs in the world (currently at Villareal in La Liga, got man of the match against Real Madrid this weekend)
He’s one of the first max athletic young Americans who is also fully football (soccer) native / has the touch and game awareness of young European players
Exciting to see!

Instinct is significantly better than @Muse at the moment. It seems like muse is optimizing for cost while instinct is optimizing for understanding exactly what you want done.
Instinct is probably less compute efficient than @Muse and I only noticed this because instinct has basically stopped working today. I tried to redo a bunch of tasks i'd already done successfully with one pass using instinct and it's been incredibly painful with Muse.
Obviously a lot of that is probably due to Instinct being a startup and Muse being a part of a publicly traded company.

One of the greatest viruses of the modern man is looking at Instagram Stories. You will melt your brain looking at a barrage of outcomes—like vacations, parties, cars—with no visibility of the process that got them there.
