ALT It is difficult in some cases to get to the very heart of the matter. But in this case, it is not hard at all. The government is asserting a right to stash away residents of this country in foreign prisons without the semblance of due process that is the foundation of our constitutional order. Further, it claims in essence that because it has rid itself of custody that there is nothing that can be done. This should be shocking not only to judges, but to the intuitive sense of liberty that Americans far removed from courthouses still hold dear.

I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.
I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.

In a town hall today angry Iowa residents spoke their mind to Sen. Chuck Grassley:
"I think the general population is sick and tired of hearing about the tax cuts for the wealthy ... When you start nitpicking about whether some single mom or single dad or somebody with somebody in prison is getting $70 too much food stamps—it doesn’t even buy you anything at the grocery store."
I've been trying my best to stay away from this forum but this is the most important thread you'll read about the Trump tariffs/taxes.

The tariffs don't make sense as economic policy because they aren't economic policy. They are a tool to undermine our democracy. A means to force every major company and industry in America to pledge loyalty to Trump in return for tariff relief.

Thinking of @MaryLevy17 as @dcpublicschools released its initial FY26 school-level budgets today.
