From the jump, Zac had the mare perfectly positioned in the box seat, allowing her to settle behind the leaders and build momentum. Turning for home, the pair had very little room to work with, but Zac managed to find a narrow gap and get Chix into clear running. The mare showed plenty of determination in the closing stages, getting her nose in front in a tight photo finish.

American Thoroughbred racehorse Man o' War lying in state at Faraway Farm in Lexington, Kentucky, following his death on November 1, 1947.
He became the first horse to be embalmed and laid in state in an oak casket. Over 2,500 mourners and fans gathered to pay their respects.
