has there been a proper reexamination among people who thought trump was the less hawkish option in 2024? it can't just be "we were lied to"...he almost started a war with iran the first time! nearly everyone who wanted a war with iran supported him!
Joe Rogan, quoted by Bloomberg.
“What Trump stood for, some of it turned out to not be real. Like one of them was the no wars. Well, look, we’re at war with Iran. So that wasn’t real.”

Anti-war right update: Trump has bombed Somalia in this term twice as much as all of Bush, Obama, and Biden’s airstrikes combined. In just under two years he is set to surpass his own appalling record he established over four years.

My gosh. Fetterman pretended to be sick to avoid meeting three paralyzed veterans from rural PA…and then went to do a Fox interview on Israel.
He agreed to meet a lawmaker who drove from PA to talk about homeless and working people…and then bailed & met pro-Israel Bruce Pearl.
Behind closed doors, John Fetterman dodges constituents, alienates fellow Democrats and shows little interest in the work of a senator. on.wsj.com/4qUDFov

for all the talk that trump and especially vance are some departure from traditional republican economics, it was the trump-vance white house — not the paul ryan house — that cut medicaid

JUST IN: A surprisingly bad job report. The US economy LOST -23,000 jobs in July (way below expectations of +80k). May and June were revised DOWN by a combined -103,000.
Unemployment rate: 4.1% ->This went down for the WRONG reasons. Over 260,000 left the labor force
Wage growth: 3.2% -->this is entirely wiped out by inflation

again, big picture, donald trump won an election about affordability and then he
- passed tariffs (which raise consumer prices)
- expanded the deficit w a ginormous corporate tax cut (raises interest rates)
- waged a stupid war (raises gas prices)
- and now refuses to sign a bipartisan bill to reduce housing costs bc he's protesting senate republicans for failing to pass voting restrictions
... while making $2 billion from crypto rug pulls that transferred income from his supporters to his bank account
americans hate the president for very good reasons
"If Watergate happened tomorrow, it would be like a 12 hour news story."
Well, that depends; if the one who does it is any average politician then that's not true, it would still be a career-ending scandal, and you'd be on the side of those condemning the perpetrator. (1/2)
But if Watergate happened tomorrow and Trump was the one who did it, then yes it would be a 12-hour news cycle just like all his other disqualifying scandals because for some reason Trump is treated with a unique standard where we're meant to forgive him for everything forever.
