An Open Concern About Appearances: The Catholic Church and the Midterms
I am Catholic. I say the rosary. I go to Mass. Nothing in what follows is an accusation against the Church, the Pope, or any bishop. It is a concern about how things look from the outside, and how that appearance is landing with millions of Americans right now.
This administration created a Justice Department task force on anti-Christian bias, pardoned twenty-three pro-life prisoners, stood up a White House Faith Office and a Religious Liberty Commission, designated Nigeria a Country of Particular Concern over the killing of Christians, and cut off federal funding to Planned Parenthood. For a Catholic writer, that record is not nothing. It is, on its face, one of the most tangible pro-life and pro-faith agendas in modern presidential history.
In January 2025, the same administration suspended the refugee and migrant service contracts that had funded the USCCB and Catholic Charities for decades. Over one hundred million dollars a year. More than ninety-five percent of some program budgets. By spring, staff were laid off. By summer, agencies were closing programs. The money did not come back.
Institutions that lose their largest funding stream tend to find their moral vocabulary sharpening in the same direction as their budgets. I am not saying that is what happened. I am saying that is what it looks like, and that appearance is not going unnoticed.
Fourteen months later, in April 2026, the public statements from the Vatican and from American bishops toward this administration grew noticeably louder and more pointed than anything seen during the first term. Catholics see it. Non-Catholics see it.
And when a bishop speaks out days before a national election against one party’s immigration positions—which are prudential disagreements open to debate—while remaining silent on the other’s platform positions that contradict settled Church teaching on life, on the body, on marriage, the imbalance is impossible to miss.
I am not suggesting the Church holds a grudge, or that its silence on one side was bought. I am saying that is the appearance, and appearances are what most Americans, Catholic and not, actually see. When the institution that spent a year without its largest funding stream then directs its public voice at one party near an election—the very party that delivered more concrete protections for Christian life and religious liberty than perhaps any administration in living memory—the appearance is not of a shepherd. It is of a stakeholder.
That is the embarrassment I cannot unsee.

.@MrAndyNgo went from tracking Antifa mugshots in Portland to uncovering a terrifying Silicon Valley trans death cult called the "Zizians." He explains how this group went completely off the deep end, from running brain experiments to leaving at least eight dead bodies in their wake:
"They believed that when AI becomes a super-intelligence, that they themselves could form the trans vanguard... that their consciousness could be uploaded into the super-AI and it could recreate a utopian simulation.
They performed human experimentations because they had certain hypotheses about brains and how the brain would have different genders... and they had experiments that they thought could separate the two hemispheres of the brain.
The brutality that they are alleged to have enacted on their victims includes using samurai swords in an attack, hollow-point round executions firing to the heads of people, and other very, very violent killings that I can't get into detail for this broadcast, but it's in the book."

Didn’t expect my Brewers tweet to blow up like this, so let me reintroduce myself to all the new folks!
I’m Brett Galaszewski and I’m the National Field Enterprise Director for @TPAction. I’ve been with Turning Point for almost 7 years and I’m humbled every day to help carry on Charlie’s legacy through our field work.
I’m also Vice Chair of the Milwaukee GOP and I was lucky enough to be one of the youngest RNC delegates in the country in 2024.
99.9% of my posts are political, so it’s wild that my first sports tweet is the one that went the most viral. Shoutout to the leftists flooding my DMs. You’ve been very generous in boosting engagement of my post 😂
I’m unapologetically conservative and that’s certainly not changing now! Go Brewers and Vote Republican!

We are 100% sure that the Daily Mail will come under fire for this headline.
But knowing what we know now, we are also 100% sure that they are not going to have to issue a retraction.
We will be releasing more information soon.

Ryan Reynolds got me fired. Not only that, but he made sure to convince Will Ferrell to go along with it.
Apple TV HR department did the dirty over the phone.
The 2 cowards were together on set the last night I was on the job talking and smiling at me from a distance knowing that their work was done.
Congrats to Ryan and Will for ending a good man's career. @VancityReynolds

Yesterday morning, an Indian man was caught publicly defecating in my neighborhood in central Texas. Since it was just hours before our neighborhood's Independence Day parade, it is unclear if he was doing this to symbolically "poop on America" or if he just hasn't left his Indian ways in India.
Regardless, this incident highlights a growing issue in America, and specifically in Texas - if we import the third world, we become the third world! This is regardless of whether the immigrants are legal or illegal. We cannot continue to allow people who hate our country and refuse to assimilate to come here and leech off of everything we have to offer.
It's time to end the current H1B visa system.
It's time to end immigration from countries that don’t hold western values.
And it's time to DEPORT America hating foreigners.
America is for Americans. If we continue to allow foreigners to LITERALLY sh*t on our country, we will lose America as we know it.
