The results are in! 🎉 Irlam Station has been crowned winner of the World Cup of Stations 2026! From school visits and railway heritage tours to its popular café, Irlam is much more than a place to catch a train. It brings generations together, creates new memories and gives the local community a place to connect. This year’s competition celebrated the stations creating connections that matter, and Irlam is a brilliant example of what that means. #WorldCupOfStations

After a week of campaigning and public voting, Irlam in Manchester has been crowned the World Cup of Stations 2026 champion. Following over 150 nominations from across Britain, a judging panel selected 20 stations for the public vote. Irlam progressed to the final alongside Berney Arms, Brookwood, Cardross and Yatton, before securing 4786 votes to take the title.
