Wonder how much of this u-turn on Agniveer could also be influenced by the fact post Ukraine-Russia war, suddenly number of soldier's matter. Pre-2023, it was thought only equipment matters, but now drones have brought parity
Why Agniveer was a desperate throw of the fiscal dice. Never has so much (fiscal burden) been obliged of so few (taxpayers) for such a small cohort (of permanent colour servicemen). Partially explains why the army looks kitted out like a militia...

Exactly as Glasfurd drew them in early 1900s somewhere around Bastar. With large horns and near water bodies.
The sheer size of horns you see on these central Indian wild water buffaloes man. Just awe-inspiring 🐃

Crazy. Thank God, the impact is below the regions hit by Cyclone Arnab
Murasu remarkable intensification before landfall ================= Improved convective organisation with deep convection regenerating around the circulation is allowing Murasu to intensify even as it approaches the coast. At 85 knots (approximately 157 km/h), it is already a very intense system. JTWC expects 70 knots even after crossing land. The combination of: Low vertical wind shear allowing the cyclone's core and upper level outflow to remain organised and Favourable sea surface temperatures (SST) providing ample oceanic heat energy.

Seeing too much fights happening between weathermen these days. Weathermen just like stock market analysts and economists and geopolitical analysts should develop high cortisol tolerance and chill. Just say what you have to say and log out😄

Bizarre to see Kottayam. It is the most ordinary town in Kerala. Does not have the natural beauty of Alappuzha, the multicultural/modern vibe of Kochi, neither the cultural heritage of Trivandrum/Thrissur, nor an association with food that Kozhikode has. Why the hell would someone call it the best town in India
Replying to @ShivAroor
Best: Kottayam, Kerala. Worst: Every city and town in India's got locals having a crack at making it better. It's better to give one a fair pat on the back for what it's pulled off than to rubbish another for what it's still got to sort out.

My wish is to see 1 lakh tigers roam the jungles of India. We should introduce tigers wherever there is a wooded forest
Tiger numbers are increasing at a rapid pace everywhere. We should be worried

There's something about the movie that feels non-Indian in aesthetic. OTOH, Shukracharya movie trailer feels Indian/Hindu
OMG! Just look at Jatayu’s feathers! 🤯🔥 PEAK VISUALS. PEAK QUALITY. Absolute cinema! 🦅💥 #Ramayana

I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that this is the same village 28 years apart. I went down every alley on Google street view. All the homes are like the last 2 pictures. For reference, Karnataka’s GDP per capita in 1998 was $1000 in today’s USD. Today it is roughly $5000. This is what a 5x improvement in prosperity looks like on the ground
They should make a reality TV show where a condescending old school Oxford educated @INCIndia politician used to courting impoverished, illiterate villagers (image one) for votes wakes up from a 28 year coma and tries the exact same rhetoric and tactics in the same exact village … except the voters are now educated, live in concrete homes, and have piped water (images 2 and 3). Would be an interesting crashout

(Posting this at the request of a close family member who cares deeply about animal welfare) A PERSONAL APPEAL ON INDIA’S DRAFT LABORATORY ANIMALS RULES, 2026 The draft rules may streamline approvals for scientific research. But efficiency must not come at the cost of independent oversight and animal welfare. A few provisions deserve serious reconsideration: ●Rule 11: Allows institutional committees to approve mild and moderate experiments without prior central approval. ●Rule 5: Could permit exceptions for experiments involving stray or feral animals. ●Rule 21: Allows sourcing animals from unregistered establishments or open markets when registered sources are unavailable. ●Rule 15: Leaves key safeguards on pain, housing, rehabilitation and reuse to future guidelines. These are legitimate concerns about accountability, transparency and the risk of conflicts of interest. I urge the government to reconsider and redraft the rules, with stronger independent oversight, enforceable welfare standards and meaningful public consultation. If you share these concerns, please amplify this appeal and submit your objections before 5 November. This is not a call to oppose science. It is a plea to ensure that scientific progress is guided by responsibility and compassion. #AnimalWelfare #LaboratoryAnimals #Indi @Dept_of_AHD_MH

I like steamed nendran pazham. It's a delicacy when eaten hot with ghee on top. Like the natural sweetness when you find the right banana is out of the world. No one outside kerala knows about this morning/evening snack though compared to pazhampori
It has to be made with “naadan” nendran “Pandi” variety is crap .
