I testify that Jesus is the Christ. That He lives. That He loves each of us and wants the very best for us in the world and throughout eternity. I have listened to the voice of the Spirit bear record to me of this truth and nothing the world has can diminish this knowledge because it is pure light. I love the Lord Jesus. He is my salvation. He is my advocate with the Father. He is my friend.

One thought as I wake up this morning, work out, and see the news. "Our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, will perform some of His mightiest works between now and when He comes again. We will see miraculous indications that God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, preside over this Church in majesty and glory. But in coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost." - President Russell M. Nelson

I am grateful to know who I truly am. I am a child of God. The God of the Universe is the Father of my spirit, and I am His son. As a perfect Father, He knows me perfectly. His greatest desire is my eternal welfare. My knowledge of God’s nature brings me so much comfort. Knowing that He didn’t create me for the sole purpose of damning me to hell and brimstone in order to glorify Himself. He doesn’t eagerly wait for me to mess up, knowing that in my infinite imperfection that I will fail to perfectly follow Him, so He can send me to Hell. God eagerly awaits for me to turn to Him. He is so actively involved in my life that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save me. I owe everything to Jesus. He endured more than I can ever understand. It is through His grace that I am saved and can return to my Father. I am so grateful for this knowledge and the peace and strength it brings me.

Bible Contradictions, Part 6 of 12: How many stalls did Solomon have? 1 Kings 4:26 says "Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen." 2 Chronicles 9:25 says "Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen." Same king and the same 12,000 horsemen, but the stall count is off by a factor of TEN. "Copyist error" is the go-to answer, and the NIV and NLT go ahead and change Kings to 4,000. Again, that's an admission that it's an error. Now imagine the Book of Mormon had a 40,000 vs 4,000 slip. We'd never hear the end of it. Apply the same standard or drop it.

How do you distinguish correct knowledge from incorrect knowledge about an incomprehensible God?

Why does God give us commandments? Is it to see if we can be perfect? He knows we can never be perfect, so is it a trick? Does God expect too much of us? I’ve found that God’s commandments are always for my benefit - they always lead me toward happiness. There’s peace in following God. I can’t work my way to heaven. Nothing I can do can get me there. It’s only through Christ that I can ever return to my Father. I don’t keep the commandments because I’m trying to earn Heaven. Every day I strive and fail and strive anew to keep the commandments because I love God and He asked me to keep His commandments. Over time it has become less about tracking what I am supposed to do or not do. Over time, I have changed as a result of all that striving and failing and striving again to follow God. Over me life, my nature has changed. Which, I think is part of the purpose. But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; …I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. - Jeremiah 31:33

Watched the first 3 Harry Potter movies. - years ago. Wasn’t all that impressed. I’ve never read the books. My son suggested we watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One tonight. An entire movie about people camping. Seriously? BORING

I don’t know why @Bojangles changed their ranch to yucky homestyle. Now I have to bring my own ranch if I eat there.

Spending the day with my wife. One last kid (sorta) in the house but gone more than he’s here living the college life. Just hanging out, comfortable in the silence. Peaceful together even though the chaos of life and work and sickness and service and adult children and dirty dishes surrounds us. Nearly 30 years of living my life with the woman of my dreams. I’m just getting started.

Exmos and LDS critics are a unique bunch of people. After all, how many people create dedicated X accounts and devote 20+ posts a day to talk about leaving other religions, quitting their jobs, canceling their gym memberships, dropping out of a Multi Level Marketing scheme, escaping an HOA, cancelling a timeshare, or switching your auto insurance? Full-time devotion to tearing down a global Christian religion must be tiring.

Little children have no need for baptism because they have no need for repentance. The Lord has taught: “baptism is unto repentance to the fulfilling the commandments unto the remission of sins.” If little children required baptism then God would cease to be God. But God isn’t changeable.

I’ve been silently following this guy as he’s walked his journey through exploring the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His “last post” about our church is full of the typical recycled arguments spewed by many of our commonplace LDS critics. That’s a common occurrence on X, but when compared to many of Kirks previous posts it’s the culmination of an ever-widening stance between him and the gospel. Of course, someone (even Kirk or myself for that matter) could actually have a deeply rooted issue in any one of the issues he listed, but used together, especially in light of previous posts, like below, it feels like a hastily compiled list of suddenly identified issues. Maybe it is and maybe it isn’t. It’s not my place to judge. It’s his journey and I have no role in it whatsoever, other than an observer to what he’s publicly posted. I am not privy to his private journey. My only comment is that from the outside you see a man over time circling closer to the gospel and then gradually pulling away. It’s a masterclass in contrasting someone gaining more light and then settling back into whats comfortable. I hope the best of Kirk, and anyone else honestly looking beyond the caricature of the Church portrayed on X. His “Last Testimony” and his “Last Post” have two different spirits about them that you can feel as you read them. nitter.cf/nicoraytruth/status/20…

Terrible loss. He was a great actor.
All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from "X-Men" to "Logan" to "Avengers: Doomsday." He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.

The Invisible Theology Problem Evangelical: You Mormons have a terrible habit of interpreting the Bible through your theology! 😡 LDS: Guilty. Evangelical: Wait, what? LDS: Of course we interpret Scripture through our theological understanding. Everyone does. Evangelical: NO! We just believe what the Bible says! LDS: Oh, interesting. Let's try something. Jesus said we must be born of water and of the Spirit to enter the kingdom of God. What does that mean? Evangelical: Spiritual regeneration. Not necessarily water baptism. LDS: I see. And that's not an interpretation? Evangelical: No! That's what Jesus meant! LDS: Okay. What about the Father and Son being one? Evangelical: One divine essence, three distinct persons, coequal and coeternal. LDS: Fascinating. Where does the Bible explain that particular formulation? Evangelical: It's the necessary conclusion of Scripture! LDS: So... an interpretation? Evangelical: BIBLICAL DOCTRINE! LDS: Right. And when Paul says we're justified by faith apart from works? Evangelical: Faith alone! No works contribute to justification! LDS: And when James says a man is justified by works and not by faith only? Evangelical: You have to understand the context! James is talking about the evidence of genuine faith, not the basis of justification! LDS: Ah. So you're interpreting James in light of your understanding of Paul? Evangelical: I'M LETTING SCRIPTURE INTERPRET SCRIPTURE! LDS: That's actually a pretty good description of what we do too. Evangelical: NO! YOU FILTER SCRIPTURE THROUGH YOUR THEOLOGY! LDS: And you don't? Evangelical: Absolutely not! LDS: So when you read Scripture, you bring no theological assumptions, no denominational traditions, and no interpretive framework whatsoever? Evangelical: Correct! I just believe the Bible! LDS: Incredible. You've managed to become the first person in Christian history to read a text without interpreting it. Evangelical: You're twisting my words! LDS: Sorry. I must have interpreted them. Evangelical: 😡 LDS: Here's an idea. Instead of pretending one of us has theology and the other just has the Bible, why don't we compare our interpretations and see which is better supported by Scripture? Evangelical: Because Mormonism isn't biblical Christianity! LDS: And we've arrived right back at your interpretation being the definition of Christianity. Evangelical: IT'S NOT AN INTERPRETATION! LDS: Of course not. Your theology is apparently invisible. Evangelical: HERETIC! LDS: There's that invisible theology again. 🙂

Protestants can never get away from their dependence on the Catholic church- they rely on its authority for their scripture canon, theology, ritual, etc. They can start something new… But they’ll never replace the church with a book the church gave them
The “canon conundrum” is a fatal flaw of sola scriptura The canon simply didn’t form the way Protestants claim If it did, the first NT canon list wouldn’t be from 367 AD And there wouldn’t be 5 different authoritative OT canons today
