في يوم الرعاية، تشير تقديرات منظمة العمل الدولية إلى أن الاستثمار في القطاع قد يوفر نحو 13 مليون وظيفة في 12 دولة بالمنطقة بحلول 2035. وتُعد سياسات رعاية الأطفال والإجازات جزءاً أساسياً من سياسات العمل. وأعدّت الإسكوا دليلاً حول هذه السياسات.

💧 المياه أكثر من مجرد مورد طبيعي، فهي ضرورة استراتيجية لمستقبل المنطقة العربية.
يعيش أكثر من 90% من سكان المنطقة في بلدان تعاني من ندرة المياه، وتبلغ مستويات الإجهاد المائي فيها نحو ستة أضعاف المتوسط العالمي. لكن ندرة المياه لا ينبغي أن تحدّد مستقبلنا.
في #أسبوع_القاهرة_للمياه، دعت الأمينة التنفيذية للإسكوا، رانيا المشاط، إلى تعزيز التعاون الإقليمي لتحويل المياه من مصدر للهشاشة إلى رافعة للسلام والاستقرار والازدهار المشترك.
وسلّطت الضوء على ثلاث أولويات:
🔹 حلول مبتكرة تسخّر التكنولوجيا والمعرفة
🔹 حلول متكاملة تربط بين المياه والمناخ والغذاء والطاقة
🔹 حلول قابلة للاستثمار تحشد الموارد وتحقق نتائج على نطاق واسع

💧 #Water is more than a natural resource. It is a strategic imperative for the Arab region’s future.
More than 90% of people in the region live in water-scarce countries, and water stress is around six times the global average. Yet scarcity does not have to define our future.
At #CairoWaterWeek, ESCWA Executive Secretary @RaniaAlMashat called for stronger regional cooperation to turn water from a source of vulnerability into a driver of peace, stability and shared prosperity.
She highlighted three priorities:
🔹 Innovative solutions that harness #technology and knowledge
🔹 Integrated solutions that connect water, #climate, #food and #energy
🔹 Investable solutions that mobilize resources and deliver results at scale

The seventh Arab Competition Forum kicked off today in #Dubai under the theme “Competition policy in the digital age: maintaining fairness and equality in the market,” bringing together officials, experts and private-sector representatives from the region and around the world.
🎓 Arab young voices also took centre stage, with the announcement of the winners of the Student Competition Challenge, launched by ESCWA and the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism.
Over two days, participants will discuss ways to advance competition policies to keep pace with digital transformation and ensure that innovation remains a driver of growth and opportunity, while fostering markets that are fairer, more open and more competitive.
