When not exploring Zk on @RareSkills_io we are here having fun with rust

Crossed the 100-problem milestone in @RareCodeAI 🦀Keeping the ZK stuff light today. After a week of heavy cryptography and group theory, I've realized weekends are for recapping notes and letting the math digest. Grinding code while the theory sinks in. Consistency > Burnout

Day 205 -> 210
Rust @RareCodeAI
In Rust I’m actually focusing on getting familiar with the syntax first, and when it will be done it will free my WMC.
Maths @_MathAcademy_
I am still at the foundations but I really appreciate how I am growing . I actually suck at geometry😂

Replying to @Jeyffre @RareCodeAI
RareCode is just amazing, really. I didn't found anything else that's as good as that.
Thanks a lot for create that

Wrote a CLI in TypeScript (a language I know well) and then had Claude one-shot it to Rust (a language I barely know).
Props to @RareCodeAI and their Rust class. There's no way I could have written this myself, but Rare Code gave me the skills to understand the code.

Just completed all the Rust🦀 learning journeys on RareCode.
Loved the structure, the progressive difficulty, and especially the AI integration for feedback.
Really well executed.
Great job @RareSkills_io @RareCodeAI

I subscribed Rust Course from @RareCodeAI and so far I like it.
So far I have done the module on the basics of Rust and I enjoyed it.
It is not a typical video tutorial, it is more like a hands on practice like you would do in leetcode.
You also have access to GenAI so that it can help you to understand the concept properly.
The subscription will last for only 6 months so it will force me to stay consistent and finish the course within 6 months.

day 0x020 of my 0x423 challenge (days off: 2)
• Math Academy — 68/60 XP (50% Mathematics for Machine Learning)
variance of sample means
hyperboloids
orthogonal matrices (review)
Introduction to Hypothesis Testing — Assessment
• ZK Book
None.
• CS / AI Fundamentals — MIT 6.042
Went further in Lecture 6, on how math can unveil bogus studies.
• Rust — RareCode
Completed Journey 50 on .into(), an alternative to ::from().
I don't know if I didn't notice before or what, but I've just realized @RareCodeAI has both notes and timer for every exercise... the user experience just keeps getting better!

finally completed this fun journey with @RareCodeAI , good first step towards working with rust, now ill move on to building some projects on rust, will do some of those on codecrafters

completed @RareCodeAI finally. will be focusing on writing noir circuits and gradually getting better at rust through mini-projects.

Huge thanks to @RareCodeAI for helping me stay consistent. It took a bit longer than expected since I was juggling multiple things alongside this, but the habit stuck.
Looking forward to starting a project after completing this and applying this learning in something real.

Finally hit 1,000 lines. Took longer than expected, but excited to start building real projects. Thanks @RareCodeAI

As I close in on 1,000 days of Duolingo, and as I keep making progress on the @RareCodeAI Rust course, I’ve been thinking a lot about educational tourism vs real online education.
Duolingo is optimized for fun, not learning.. and I don't mean that as an insult... it’s a design choice.
In optimizing for fun, it creates a vanity metric: streaks.
Streaks make users feel like they’re learning. They make investors feel like users are learning. But most people are just playing a game.
That doesn’t make Duolingo useless. A memory game can be enjoyable. I play NYT Connections too, I just don’t confuse it with education.
Used alone, Duolingo will not teach you a language.
I spent two years living in Spanish-speaking countries. I did 30–45 min of Duolingo each morning for vocab plus three one-hour private lessons per week, and I made real progress.
Duolingo helped... but only as a small piece of a serious plan.
That’s how people end up abroad, streak intact, unable to order coffee.
Compare that to Rare Code.
Each problem has an AI tutor, but it refuses to give answers. It asks questions. It forces you to think. When I've asked it "I'm lost, what's the answer", the AI refuses to answer, it says things like "look at line 5 and compare that to what you did in the previous problem".
Every ~20 lessons, it drops you into a blank box and says:
“Tell me what you’ve learned.”
No prompts. No hints. You're forced to recall.
That’s challenging, and if it was DuoLingo, it would stop being fun and people would drop off.
But, it's also why it works.
Real education is challenging. It requires effort ... but most people like the "idea of learning" more than they like putting in the work.
Duolingo isn’t bad. But educational tourists shouldn’t fool themselves into thinking one lesson a day equals progress.
If you actually want to learn something, choose platforms that make learning harder (not more fun), and be honest about the time it takes.
Rough rule of thumb to get good (not great):
• Natural Languages: ~45 min/day for ~3 months
• Programming Languages: 2–3 hrs/day for ~3 months
There are shortcuts.

This is so much fun, loving it 👏. This has to be the most effective way to learn
