I've been reflecting on this. I'm generally a very optimistic person, but lately I've been feeling a strange sense of sadness that coding has been "solved".
I can, and have, made many caveats to "solved"... but I also know that in five years none of them will matter. It will be solved.
Building things is still fun, but a different kind of fun. It doesn't activate the same parts of my brain as trad coding did.
I think it's okay to mourn the thing we loved doing being different now. Software was the first job to go through the five AI stages of grief, which means we're also some of the first to internalize that this will happen to many other jobs.
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

We really need GPT-6 Luna.
Astra is amazing, but it burns through usage way too fast. And rn Codex doesn’t really have that perfect middle ground model.
Luna is cheap but Astra ends up fixing its mistakes. Terra isn’t a big enough jump either. For harder work I just end up back on Astra or Sol.
Give Luna a serious upgrade and make it the reliable daily driver Codex needs. Agree??

I'm torn internally when people take time off. Is this normal?
On the one hand, I want people to relax, enjoy time with their families and take a break. I genuinely want it.
On the other hand, it pains me so much when I know we could move faster. I don't understand how you can take time off knowing that a competitor is not.
In the end, I much prefer the latter rather than the former. I just struggle to admit it.
