Reminder - russia has zero legitimate security concerns.
russia hates NATO like a thief hates locks. Makes it harder for them to keep invading peaceful neighbors.

Oh my, another idiot take that just won’t die. The Europeans are not funding Russia’s war. They started from a deep structural dependency on Russian energy and have made tremendous — and fast — progress on decoupling. This isn’t something you just turn off overnight. And they still contribute far more to Ukraine in aid anyway.
In contrast, the US is not even remotely dependent on Russian fossil fuels and yet the Kremlin asset in the White House is easing sanctions anyway while completely shutting off aid.
Contrary to the braindead takes of Trump apologists, the hypocrisy runs squarely through Washington, not Brussels.
In case you were wondering who was funding Russia's war on Ukraine, the EU is the number 1 purchaser of Russia's liquid natural gas and pipeline gas products through September 2026.energyandcleanair.org/august…

The shifting explanations from Musk and the administration sound like Abbott and Costello’s “Who’s on First?” Except the consequences for Ukrainian civilians are deadly.
Musk says he didn’t do it. The administration says it didn’t either. Yet someone in the administration reportedly told Musk to undo it, and Ukraine reports only partial restoration.
Are we supposed to believe Hegseth and the Pentagon don’t know the status of a capability critical to U.S., Ukrainian and allied security?
Whoever is handing Putin the gift of a more vulnerable Ukraine should at least have the guts to put their name on it. Hiding behind denials while innocent people pay the price is cowardice.
Meanwhile, Putin keeps murdering civilians and trying to starve and freeze Ukraine into submission. Americans deserve answers. Ukrainians deserve the means to defend themselves.

There are certain decisions that will go down as history-defining moments. This is one of them. It's a terrible misjudgment of Putin, who has made it clear he wants to destroy the West. We shouldn't help him do it.

“we will pay any price….to assure the success and survival of liberty.” Is this still true? Do we prize liberty or do we prize power and purse? No more clear test than the choice between Ukraine and Russia. Abandon Ukraine and we abandon liberty. Eventually even our own.

Just so you understand the scale of betrayal: first, our "partners" didn't warn Ukraine about the incoming ballistic missiles, so the air raid alert wasn't activated before impact, robbing people of their chance to survive.
Then, Starlink was restricted to stop working at speeds above 100 mph. This renders useless, first and foremost, our interceptor drones. It doesn't limit our ability to attack inside Russia, it limits our ability to stop another apartment building or school full of civilians from being hit.
Wow, just wow.

My thanks to everyone expressing their outrage and concern. Of course there are millions of people whose lives are threatened by Russia every day in Ukraine, and Ukrainian victory remains the best form of security for me, my colleagues, and all of Europe.
putin’s desperate plot to silence Garry Kasparov on American soil.
putin’s regime has once again proven that it operates less like a legitimate government and more like a transnational mafia syndicate.
According to an explosive investigative report by the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, the Kremlin’s intelligence hit squads reached all the way into the United States in a cowardly attempt to murder legendary chess champion and fearless pro-democracy leader Garry Kasparov.
For years, @kasparov63 has used his massive global platform to speak truth to power, exposing the corruption, brutality, and lawlessness of putin’s dictatorship.
Unable to defeat his ideas with arguments, the Kremlin resorted to its default language: violence and terror.
U.S. authorities had to step in this summer to directly warn Garry Kasparov that he was a top target for Kremlin assassins, forcing official security measures to shield his life. This wasn't just a vague threat. Court documents and investigative reports reveal a chilling network of operatives hunting anti-putin voices across borders.
While putin’s thugs tried to outsource their dirty work, offering pocket change to mercenaries to stalk targets in Washington, the plot exposes the utter panic inside the Kremlin.
Dictators like putin are terrified of brilliant, uncompromised voices like Kasparov who remind the world that a free, democratic Russia is possible.
This assassination plot shatters the illusion that critics are safe once they leave Russia.
Yet, for all their dark money, surveillance networks, and hired thugs, the Kremlin's desperation only reveals their weakness. They can threaten, stalk, and plot, but they will never silence Garry Kasparov, nor the unstoppable demand for freedom.

I just landed in Copenhagen for my dad's 70th birthday (!), so wanted to cover a fascinating European airline...
Four years ago, SAS filed for bankruptcy.
Now it is profitable, ranks No. 3 globally for punctuality and is buying 69 aircraft.
It cut costs, left the alliance it helped found and stopped pretending Scandinavia needed three equal hubs.
Here’s how it rebuilt the airline around CPH.

I met Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, Commander of Ukraine’s 🇺🇦 Unnmanned Systems Forces @usf_army , who gave me a comprehensive briefing on the nature of modern warfare, in all its layers and complexity.
It is absolutely high time for Western allies to make fundamental changes to their defence doctrines and plans to prevent Russia from miscalculating the West’s ability and resolve to defend itself.
The limited capabilities of Western militaries in drone warfare also constrain the scope and credibility of conventional deterrence.

850 Danish soldiers now defend NATO’s eastern flank 🇩🇰🪖
The battalion started its arrival in Latvia this week, serving under Canadian command in NATO’s multinational brigade, deployed through January 2027.
Denmark’s core defence spending reaches approximately 3.49% of GDP in 2026, close to 5% including broader security investments. That covers major purchases of U.S. equipment and substantial support to Ukraine.
Denmark continues to scale up its defence spending and its contributions to allied security, in line with its commitment to transatlantic burden-sharing.

Generations of Western audiences have seen white people in expensive suits and the relative modernity of central Moscow and are then blinded to what Russia actually is.
The reality is an inhuman level of poverty across 95% of the country that is seen nowhere in the western hemisphere - a petri dish of brutality and ignorance that's impossible for those in civilized nations to comprehend.
A captured Russian explains how they live in the Bashkortostan region. No indoor toilet, no shower in winter, caloric sustenance by eating a single horse leg over several months, no school - then they're sent to rape and murder for the czar in a place they aim to call "Russia".

You are literally celebrating the coronation of Gustav Adolf on June 6th 1523, which marks that from then on the Danish kings were no longer kings of Sweden. Which obviously must be important to you since you chose this date as your national day.
Getting butt hurt about this called a celebration of becoming independent from Denmark is pathetically sensitive. Ending dependency does not even necessarily imply a hierarchi in the relationship. Denmark was also dependent on Sweden when we were in the union together. So you could also say that we became independent from Sweden. We just dont celebrate it as a big victory because we liked the union and did not want it to end.
So stop being so incredibly aggressive and easy to trigger.

Statement by President George W. Bush on Robert Mueller:
"Laura and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Robert Mueller. Bob dedicated his life to public service. As a Marine in Vietnam, he proved he was ready for tough assignments. He earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart before returning home to pursue law. In 2001, only one week into the job as the 6th Director of the F.B.I., Bob transitioned the agency mission to protecting the homeland after September 11. He led the agency effectively, helping prevent another terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Laura and I send our heartfelt sympathy to his wife of nearly 60 years, Ann, and the Mueller family."
